Everything. Everything was absolutely amazing! It’s a shame that we only planned two nights at playa — will come back for a longer stay! The house is a special piece of art. Each room is designed ingeniously and each piece of furniture is a special art piece. The rooms are very clean, equipped with all facilities you’ll need. The place is in a good locations close to many good restaurants and bars, and yet surprisingly quiet. Apart from the hotel, Fabri, the host, is a gem himself. He not only take care of our stay, but takes care of EVERYTHING. From airport pick up (at two different terminals even), recommendation for car rentals, for restaurants, for day trip recommendations, the lift to the ferry… with his knowledge he helped us arrange literally everything (he always gives a large range of options for everything and so at no time do we feel like he forces our hands for his benefits, all of his advices are 100% sincerr) Because of Fabri, we had a brain-dead vacation and a fantastic holiday. Thank you, Fabri!

Everything :) the staff was super nice, especially Clara made us feel welcome immediately. It’s close the the most important things in the city in our opinion which is the beach and Quinta Avenida which is where a lot of shops and restaurants are located.

Brand new amenities. Super comfortable rooms. Each space is beautifully designed. The family pool is great. Staff were absolutely adorable with us and so welcoming everywhere: pool staff, restaurant staff, welcome team…Absolutely Delicious food. We loved having a dedicated “guia” taking care of us; Itza was super professional and friendly. She would help us having our kids food pre-ordered and ready for them at diner time.

An amazing place and I highly recommend. Even if the hotel is filled you wouldn't feel it since there is plenty of space and the staff is incredible. The base level rooms are all very big and private, each has a small pool and you could easily chill out for the day there. The best food I've ever had at a hotel as well. Honestly there are too many good things to say about this place so if you have the opportunity, I highly recommend.

It's Time to Playa!

At the centre of the Mayan Riveria is Playa del Carmen, a playground for hip Europeans and toned-and-tanned Americans. This resort town showcases the renowned white-sand beaches of the Caribbean Coast along the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.

Playa del Carmen's powdery white sands are nestled between Cancun to its north, Tulum in the south and the island of Cozumel, 20 km east with its fantastic diving in the nearby Great Maya Reef. Awake from an afternoon nap to take a dip, go snorkelling or deep-sea fishing in the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Playa is an easy choice as a holiday destination with its range of hotels, many first-class restaurants and beachside nightclubs. Quinta Avienda, also known as 5th Avenue, is the main tourist hub and shopping district. For a more authentic Mexico experience, venture outside of the centre to a local cenote (sinkhole) or Mayan ruins in Tulum.

Cruise ships dock in nearby Cozumel and traffic people to the mainland arriving at the Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal. If the glimmering Caribbean waters are full, then Booking.com has a huge number of hotels with an outdoor swimming pool by the beach.

    We love this hotel. Just a short walk to a fantastic beach. They let us borrow two folding beach chairs and they supply beach towels. We stayed in Apartment #7. It was quite large, amply cooking supplies in the kitchen, clean and comfortable. We will return.

    Safer than advertised in uk.

    Safer than advertised in uk. Police around every corner but we don’t believe they need to be there. Lots of friendly people. It’s a little off putting that store holders shout at you to go in their shops but I suppose they want the customers. I’m just not into being dragged into shops, I like to choose where I go in. Most shops are selling the same items too

    Checked out early as couldn’t stay here any longer.

    Checked out early as couldn’t stay here any longer. Tried to raise a complaint with the duty manager and was treated worse after doing so. Food is bad and you have to Que to get into the buffet restaurant because they claim they are not busy due to low season so not opening up all of the restaurant. Oh and you get charge £150 if you loose your room key.

    , A lovely location on the Caribean Sea, a big attraction for me was diving in the Cenotes, very unique experience. Food is lovely and generally inexpensive, great vibe and lovely people. Highly recommend. Only downside is the seaweed which both smells and is all over in and out the water.

    The vibe is a little more chill compared to Cancún…which is a good change of pace as I mostly go to Cancun when coming to Mexico. The ocean water isn’t as clear as I would like it to be…but other than that, there are great places to dine, have brunch and meet people! Most everything you need is on or adjacent to 5th avenue.

    We live nearby and visit Play del Carmen for shopping and date nights. We enjoy it greatly! It's a beautiful area downtown, always busy and bustling. Do keep an eye on your belongings as it is an area for pick pockets and be prepared to just say no to hawkers.

    The staff were very nice and while the hotel is downtown Playa del Carmen, it is in a quiet area. It is your basic OYO hotel, clean comfy beds, reception and 24 hour security, daily housekeeping, free drinking water / coffee, hot showers with good water pressure, small fridge and very good internet. The person at reception spoke good English and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Good old Mexican hospitality!

    Spacious apartments with full functioning kitchen. Seems to be newly renovated and very clean. Good location, in walking distance to nice restaurants and busier Quinta avenida. Beach is one block away and hotel parking is provided. Amazing roof top pools with great view over playa del Carmen, also great to have some cocktails at the roof top bar. It is quiet at night, which makes it very pleasant to sleep.
