Make sure you find out which beaches are swimable before you go, and if you go snorkling go with a guide. The currents can be strong - and some dangerous- so a guide will help avoid that and provide support. Public bathrooms have no toilet seats, sometimes there is no toilet paper, and sometimes the only way to flush is with water. The people are friendly and helpful and wonderful. Most do not speak English but you’ll make friends everywhere you go. The seafood is outrageously good. Eat as much seafood as you can. I didn’t go into town so I can’t speak to that. It's a clean well laid out city.

The Resort was clean and in a great location. Customer service at check-in was decent. Our only complaint was that our room did not have hot water. They did offer us a different room but it was late and to much trouble to repack. Santa Cruz Huatulco is essentially a sun/heat/pool/beach location. Due to its increasing popularity as a tourist destination, prices have escalated in the last 4 years. In fact quite sustainably. Hotel, food and boat excursion prices are similar to those in most Canadian cities. Taxi fares are quite reasonable. If you are looking for cultural activities (museums, galleries, concerts, etc.), this is not a good location. Be prepared for earthquakes.Guest review byAnonymous

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location with quick access to the beach, both the hotel's beach club, and the Santa Cruz beach. There were lots of restaurants in the area. There is a pedestrian walkway right beside the hotel that leads to La Crusecita town and a large superstore. It takes about 15 minutes. Gorgeous weather.
