This was the highlight of our trip. The atmosphere is amazing, it is an oasis in the middle of the jungle. So quiet and peaceful yet very comfortable. Beautiful nature all around. Two pools, one in the sun and one in the shade. Also a free Mayan sauna. We had the villa which was amazingly decorated, water pressure very good. We received welcome drinks when arrived. You will have to eat at the hotels restaurant but it is very very good! Prizes are fair for the good quality and amount of food. Morning yoga so fun! And most importantly - the staff were absolutely fantastic and we felt so welcome and well taken care of. Iguana’s are btw a part of the crew. There is cenotes in the area you can walk to.

We had a great stay at Layla Tulum. It was very small and cute hotel. The staff was very friendly. The girls at the reception were always ready to help us with suggestions. The place is located close to lot of nice restaurants and the rooms were clean. Ps the hamburgers and the hummus were also delicious.

Bardo is… unique… When arriving at night, at the front desk, we could already feel that the atmosphere was different then other places we’ve been too. At the very first step you make your way to your room, you know that you are on a journey. When passing by the pool with all those trees, plants, lights, and decorations it gets clearer why you came here. You can feel the balance and respect that has been put in between the style of the infrastructures and the nature that is surrounding it, making it a place of harmony. Once we’ve arrived at the end of the path to our room, we could only be amazed by the simplicity, authenticity and taste of decoration. We were about to live in connection with Mother Nature. The transformation starts here. Not only the hotel made us feel reconnected to nature but the themazcal made us reconnect to our true selves and we felt more alive. It’s an incredible experience that I recommend to anyone who meditates and is looking for a higher self awareness and spiritual connection. Also the staff made us feel welcomed and took great care of us at anytime and any moment! Special thanks to Jay, Fernando and Shio at the front desk, who were really helpful and devoted when ever we needed help; to Alejandro, Martin, Manual, and Martin for there smiles, positive vibes and sympathique but professional way of being; to Gloria and the massage team who are very professional and caring; to Diego and Claudia, for they’re open hearts, minds, spirits and amazing work; to the cooking staff for there delicious dishes; to the security staff, who made us feel safe; and finally to the cleaning and gardening staff that makes this places magnificent, cared, respected and always tidy. Myself and my husband stayed here for three nights and talk about an absolute oasis. It is a hotel of only 9 rooms so it's lovely and quiet. The pool is gorgeous and the rooms and facilities are finished to such a high standard. Housekeeping do an amazing job at keeping it very clean. They did not change sheets and towels every day which we actually appreciated for environmental reasons but it felt like they did as the room was freshened and cleaned so well every day. Staff were very helpful with recommendations and organising a scooter rental for us which was dropped off and collected from the hotel. Couldn't have been easier! The place directly across the road does amazing breakfast ☺️

    As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be...

    As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be back. The kids were not allowed many places/ restaurants. Algea covered the beach (it was july), the restaurants were priced higher than where we live but the quality of the food was poor. If you are a family I would skip and go elsewhere. The cenotes in the reason are awesome!

    Tulum is the jungle so go prepared. Repellent and sunscreen. Avoid taxi cabs it’s way too expensive. Opt to rent a car you will see way more of Tulum that way. Make sure to spend time at the cenotes. Avoid August because the seaweed makes the ocean unbearable.

    Once you know the right places to go, where to book transportation, which tours to take, I’m sure you will have the best experience and you won’t want to leave! The agency @xclusivetravelw helped me with concierge service with no charge, and they recommended the best spots, my camera roll is full of amazing content from Tulum.

    Tulum is a city you'd have to explore more, especially with car access which we didn't have. Things could get expensive fast with the transportation, souvenir shops, and cafes that cater to tourists. I spent $35 USD on brunch, which wasn't a lot or filling at all. Yet you turn the corner, and a birria taqueria fills you up for only $16 USD. Watch your spending.

    Tulum south is good, friendly and helpful people . It didn’t seem right to pay to visit paradise beech. No clear guidelines to visit beeches via resorts. We visited Tulum ruins but very unclear about the genuine ticket office as we were stopped at three places to buy tickets by unofficial representatives.

    It was just not the vibe for us.

    It was just not the vibe for us. As far as a beach location, they are not nice enough to be pristine and visit for the beaches. The hotel zone of Tulum is a packed road by the beach with hotel after hotel and boutique after boutique, and people everywhere. And again, the beach not that nice. The BEST part was the cenotes, and they are everywhere, but expensive to visit and swim in at $40 a pop. We visit Costa Rica a lot, and were hoping for a similar vibe but it was not. It is not lush or tropical, it is a town built up next to a beach, dry and hot and arrid. Casa Altamar, great restaraunt, Tulum Brewery, great restaurant and ceviche is stellar. Aktun Chen cenote is beautiful. Dos Ojos was pricey but the bat cave section was super cool. We also did a "snorkel" trip from Puerto Aventuras, but it was 15 minutes of snorkeling in rough waters, and 1 hour hanging out in the water and drinking. This area and it's activities seem to be ideal for partying, girls trips etc. and not really enjoying the beauty of nature. We are all looking for something different.

    Very cute hotel in a great location. The suite looked exactly like in the pictures. Lots of nice details. The style is shabby chice, maybe others mistake that as “not well maintained” as we read in other reviews. But in fact everything was spotless apart from 2 tiny stains on the linen (fair enough though). Overall the best accommodation we’ve had in Mexico with great value for money for central Tulum.

    This hotel is a good choice to sleep on the beach and having air conditioning without spending a fortune. Rooms in the main building are simple but nice with hot water, which is not always the case in tulum. If you are not looking for luxury but just a nice room close to beach a recommend it. The hotel itself is amazing and the restaurant on the beach as well

    Beautiful hotel in Tulum with excellent service by the staff. We loved the pool areas and having access to the beach. There is a lovely rooftop bar where you can watch the sunset. Interior of the hotel is stunning. We took the yoga class one morning which was included in our stay. And we enjoyed the film that was put on the big screen one evening.
