The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There is water heater, air-cond (although did not have to use it), ceiling fan was working well and provide enough coolness for the room. They changed the towels daily. Basic tea, coffee sachets were provided and electric kettle. The tap water is safe to be consumed. There's netting so you can open the door with no insects coming in. Don't have to worry about food cause there is a cafe there than runs until night time. You can pay with credit card. The stay was inclusive with breakfast and was decent with selected few menus that is enough to keep you going for the morning activity. There's also a souvenir shop that you can buy torchlight, batteries, snacks, raincoat, gloves, adidas kampung. For other things like sanitary pads, you have to go to Mini Mart outside the park (not that far). It is very practical to stay inside the National Park as the meeting point for any activities is just a few steps aways from your lodge. Note: 1. There is no wifi, and little data coverage within the compound of national park. They will advise you to use Digi. But you can always just cross the bridge and reception is fine there. 2. Make sure arrange for them to pick you up at the airport. There's no Grab or public transport. Plus you won't have data or reception over there. Although there is airport Wifi. Locals are so nice, don't worry they won't leave you stranded at the airport.

Very friendly family, walking distance from the airport and near to mulu national park - i went back to nap before walking back for the second part of the day activities, drinking bottles are available for purchase, breakfast, lunch (on request) and dinner are available. Hot water is available too. Their fried rice is just amazing!! No aircon, but a working fan. It does get cooling at night (personally for me), no TV, limited internet connection, no water heater (not complaining as a cooling shower is great after a hot day in the park). Bring your books, download movies if you need, or simply chit chat with others if they're around! Do get comfortable with the geckos though!

Diana was a lovely host who made us a great dinner and breakfast. She was also available to give us transfers to and from the national park and was easy to contact. The beds are comfortable and facilities are as described in booking. We only needed to stay one night but would happily have stayed longer if needed.

I would definitely recommend this wonderful homestay in Mulu! It was a warm welcome from James, who grew up in this remote place. Authentic doesn't get any more authentic, I think. He explained to us all the things you can do and what to bring for a perfect experience. With Brenda we had a wonderful tour of the large caves and she gives us all the information about the animals we saw along the way. In the evening they showed us a documentary on a big screen about the history of Mulu and the struggle between the locals and the palm oil industry. It was very interesting! Thank you James and Brenda for our stay and the nice experience in this remote place. We will always remember it! Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

So nice to meet the owners, they are amazing people. Room is very comfortable even has A/C. Food and drinks are perfect. And a voice of an angel. This is the place where you should stay in Mulu. If you did not organise tours they offer that as well.

This review is based on the situations in a remote place like Mulu. The stay was good. It's about 1-1.5 km from Mulu national park and airport, so it's in walkable location. The host Helena and Shania was supportive. The room had 3 single beds. Initially I thought it would be a dormitory type of stay. But they have multiple rooms. It is a budget homestay. They prepare dinner and lunch is you ask for. Prices are at par with Mulu park restaurant.

Each cave is different from another and rides to get to them on the long boats added interest and anticipation of what we would find. The Park is very organised with some guides offering more information than others. We are in our 60s, and were able to cover 3 cave excursions in the one and a half days we were there...unforgettable!

Great place to come for a jungle / caving experience. Only requires basic fitness and moderate mobility to visit most of the show features. More strenuous/ adventurous options also exist for those who are interested/ daring!

river boat ride to the amazing caves. dont miss the bat flight. lots of walking in the mulu national park. office staff, guides are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. mulu has only 300 houses. there is no town. so the only attraction is the mulu national park, mariott hotel and homestays, cafes ( which are opened occasionally) if you want adventure, time with nature , quiet, astounding sites of caves and sheer size...come to Mulu. oh yes attractive pricing

Caves are awesome and well maintained for tourists with out much disturbance for nature Always give priority to Wind and Clear water caves as this tour is depending on weather It’s a rain forest , overnight heavy rain may stop the tour for next day as tourists have to move by boat . keep a rain coat unless you like to get drenched. Be prepared to swim in clear water cave

The caves and the exits of the bats at 6.30pm. Not enough little shops around Mulu. The locals are most helpful and friendly especially the airport tuck shop. The check in staff ,customs, maswings crew are all fantastic.
