Typical of Mozambique. It's a poor area so if you are prepared for rural surrounds you will not be disappointed. Locals are friendly and the lodge took us shopping for provisions as and when we needed it. Great place to relax. Super diving, snokelling, fishing and swimming. Definitely recommend. It's a beautiful place. Vilanculos is very laid back, natural and authentic. The beaches are amazing, delicious local food and some great outdoor activities to do. Visiting the islands like Bazaruto is highly recommended. These areas are truly pristine and the snorkeling along two mile reef is awesome. I would say more or less 6 days is enough time in the area. The managers of the hotel Patricia & Joao were amazing. Constantly going above and beyond for any requests I had. They welcomed me like family. The accommodation is great & clean. The food was delicious. Sometimes the service was a little slow but worth the wait. The staff are always keen & willing to do anything you request of them. Vilankulo is geared toward tourists that are spending Dollars or Euros. All of the activities are at least $100. If you want to relax on the beach, I suggest staying out of town at one of the lodges.
