If you want a very peaceful stay, close to the nature and right at the entrance of Somoto Canyon, this is the place. The service provided by the family is really hard to beat. Super friendly, always ready to help and make sure you have everything you need. Above this, the value for money is wow! You can also book the canyon tour with them which I would recommend. Juan and his family were beautiful hosts. We were welcomed into their home with open arms. Great value for money with meals included. Lots of spots to sit back, relax with a book. The canyon was a great day out exploring the canyon swimming, cliff jumping and hiking. Home stays are a great way to see the authentic Nicaragua. Thank you Juan!!

Location was perfect! Right in Somoto canyon and the nature is amazing. Breakfast was a super good, a typical Nicaraguan breakfast. The staff was so friendly and took care of us super well!

This place is an absolute gem! The apartment is spacious, clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Nice functional kitchen. Located at the edge of town in a quiet neighbourhood a short walk from the center. Secure gated and covered parking for our motorcycles. It's a good location for trips to the Somoto Canyon. Sandra the host was happy to help us organise an amazing day in the canyon, where we got picked up in the morning and dropped up in the afternoon at the apartment. More than anything it was Sandra that made our stay truly amazing. She is an amazing woman and a fantastic host.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hostal San José. The hostel and rooms are very clean, well furnished and decorated. The staff is super nice and the two dogs lovely. We're really sad that we just stayed for one night. The hostel, Somoto and the surrounding is worth to stay for a while!
