The July - Twenty Eight was just wonderful. It was outside the touristy area, though not that far. The area wasn't bustling, but there were a number of good restaurants close by, as well as a supermarket. The city center and main points of interest were just one tram ride away, about 7 minutes' ride. The room was exactly as described, a bit on the small side, but had everything you needed. The soap smelled divine, and I wished I had room in my bag to purchase some and take home with me. The hair dryer was one of the better hotel hair dryers I've used. The refrigerator had complimentary small snacks, water, and other beverages. That was a pleasant surprise! The staff was friendly and courteous. Overall, it was a great choice for Amsterdam, and I wouldn't hesitate to book a room here for my next visit.

Loads to see but very expensive , could not cope with the bikes they were everywhere very stressful getting from a to b. Went to Ann Franks house very interesting, also Windmill tour that was excellent well worth paying for that day trip, canal tour was lovely very relaxing, and informative buses and trams very frequent met my daughter who directed me everywhere could NOT have done this myself, as all signs etc., were in Dutch If you were young and very good on a mobile phone this solo holiday would be great, I would have found it a nightmare and so glad my daughter met me there, Amsterdam airport silent so you need to keep an eye on the board to check gate number for departures

Save some money by picking up food for your long days at Albert Heijn grocery stores, there are larger and smaller locations. Chis cafe is a nice little brown bar. Get the iAmsterdam city pass, it’s worth it. Watch out for the bicyclists, there are hundreds moving very fast.

    Just loved Amsterdam.

Just loved Amsterdam. Quirky clean and accessible and pretty. Great transportation system and easy to get to Central Station. Canal tours fun and give you a different perspective. Loved the museums and Anne Frank house and the library has the most amazing view of the city. Would recommend Haarlem as a day visit.

Friendly and helpful people everywhere. Canal tour was great. Taxis and buses were very reasonably priced. Very disappointed to see and smell marijuana everywhere. How many people are killed each year on bicycles? Did not see a single helmut!!

We felt safe the entire time we were in Amsterdam.

We felt safe the entire time we were in Amsterdam. We could take public transport almost anywhere. Do your research before picking a restaurant. You may find some places are cheap for food, but will have pricey drinks or sides! Book your museums in advance. We recommend the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House. Also, book a canal tour, plenty of companies to choose from, just do your research. Go to the Foodhallen on an empty stomach, there is lots to choose from. Easier to get a table during the week, as weekends will be busier.

    OMG. What silly questions .

OMG. What silly questions . If you dont like Amsterdam- there is something wrong with your perspective on life. Immerse yourself into the communities of the city and not into the cultural tourist hot spots. Walk, walk, walk; down side streets. Listen to the people of all languages who you will not understand. Get onto every different mode of transportation you can. Find hidden culinary gems like the Dumpling stand at the end of the park at Westerpark or local little bakeries and cafes on every street corner. Watch, watch, watch, the people ,fashion, bicycles, bicycles and more bicyles. Stay out of the bicycle roads. You do not belong there. Wear layers and always bring your raincoat. If your a tourist- dont bring an umbrella. You will look like a tourist.

I stayed at Hotel Levell in Amsterdam with my partner and it was great. The hotel is modern, clean, and really comfortable. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless with a great shower. The location is outside the city centre, but it’s very close to the metro, so getting into central Amsterdam was quick and easy. Overall, it was a really good stay and we’d happily come back next time we visit Amsterdam.

The location of the hotel is ideal if you want to be near the city centre (5-mins with the train) but not be in the busy areas of Amsterdam. The staff is very pleasant and provided help the moment we asked them. The room was quite spacious for 2 people and the bed was also big.
