Groningen is a bit of a hidden gem in The Netherlands. Pretty much like a small scale Amsterdam, but in a positive sense. I very much appreciate the abundance of small designer shops and outlets. The Museum at the Station is a jewel of 80ies architecture.Guest review byMartin - 10.0

A gorgeous small Dutch city that is really easy to walk around. Beautiful architecture and canals, many amazing restaurants and cosy coffee shops. The forum is a must-visit with incredible views in good and bad weather. The restaurant at the top of it has great views and lovely cake, drinks, snacks and food. The library inside the forum is impressive. If you have time visit the Martini church - the church has an incredible collection of art of the artist Edgar Modderman that is worth visiting. Best meal: The tastermenu at Pachamama serving Japanese-South American fusion food: this was a sense explosion. Every single mouthful was exquisite. Lovely student city in the north of the Netherlands. The sphere in the city is relaxed. Plenty of cafes and restaurants with different cuisines. The design is fascinating. Despite being in historic centre and historic building, the room and the bathroom are very new and good sized, with everything you can think of, including even earplugs! The personnel are caring and helpful: they even warned me that there is a pub downstairs and it might be noisy and gave me a chance to reconsider my booking. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, delicious. Great views from the room, in good company with the chickens and it has been a while since last time I slept that deep and wake up that rested. The Pied à Terre Oostersingel UMCG was a private accomodation, about 10 minutes by foot to the city centre, so a perfect location just near all interesting points at Groningen. I enjoyed the personal touch (big room with many books) , the breakfast delivered to the room, and the comfortable facilities (own bathroom). The hosts are friendly and even took us with our luggage to the train station wich is on the other side of the city centre. We will come back without hesitation.Guest review byJulianGermany
