Harderwijk was surprising.
Harderwijk was surprising. I hadn't visited the city for decades so I was pleasantly surprised of the transformation of the small lakeside town. The waterside is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect place to enjoy the sunset. The food choices are plentiful and there are enough terraces to chose from. If you like water, take a guided tour through the canals and lake, like the one from the windmill. We visited in september and the city was still lively partly because of the wonderful weather. The design, the comfort, the views and the sauna make you want to stay in the house and not leave. However, the old city of Harderwijk which is just a short walk from the house is a must see. The location of the house is also convenient for driving to Giethoorn and Elburg. Yaap has personally provided a tour and operating instructions. The hotel is in the middle of the center of Harderwijk and is close to the new part with its beach and fish restaurants. Our room was on the third floor so we had to walk some steep stairs.
