A tidy and relaxed town.
A tidy and relaxed town. We liked the mining museum, which was unpretentious but well-presented and very-well explained in English/German/Dutch by a local guy with connections to the industry. The other big draw is the Roman baths (extensive unearthed foundations of the whole complex, nicely presented inside a large modern warehouse structure). Right in the centre of town, only a few minutes walking from the train station and maybe 8 minutes walking to the theatre. Good bathroom with a shower, good breakfast (buffet with continental breakfast, eggs and sausages) and the BEST BED I'VE SLEPT IN FOR YEARS. There's a little fridge in the room. I didn't use the tv.
