I booked this hotel for my mum and me and it has been perfect for our needs . It is in a very quiet area close by the lake, we stayed at the end of March so I think the hotel will be much more busy during the high seasons in special way considering its position close by the lake . The room was very big with comfortable beds, it had table and chairs so that you can sit somewhere else and not just on the bed and it had a nice bathroom with a large shower . The hotel has restaurant and a nice deck on the lake . We stayed one night than we back for more days . Rapport quality/price very good considering most of the hotel around this area . Friendly staff . Definitely you need a car to move around the area .

The boat house was exactly as shown in the photo and much nicer and very clean. The mattresses were nice and firm. Beautiful spot for relaxing and enjoying boat ride to the nearest lake. Robert was very responsive to any queries that we had. We were sorry that our stay was very short here, and we will definitely come back here if we come back to Netherland again. What did I like? Everything. What an absolute gem of a property. I was hesitant to write this review, as I selfishly don't want more people to find out about Villa Trompenberg. But yea, the place is simply phenomenal. Really cool old house converted into a boutique hotel. Everything you could want from an accommodation and then some. Large, elegant, spotlessly clean, comfortable room. Bikes available for hire. Fully stocked 24 hour food and drink offerings in the reception / kitchen. Easy everything; check in, bike hire, coffee on demand, honesty bar, check out. The daughter in the family that owns the property was there in the morning making eggs to order for the guests, and chatting with her a bit was a total bonus highlight. Honestly one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I've ever had.

    It is a very nice area that I can definitely recommend to...

    It is a very nice area that I can definitely recommend to visit . I ride my bike around part of the Loosdrecht lake and it has been very nice going through the different villages that are next to the lake . From this area you can also easily reach the bigger city of Utrecht and Amsterdam, we used the Breukelen train station to move around .

    It's a very good location to enjoy sightseeing, water sports...

    It's a very good location to enjoy sightseeing, water sports and relaxing. The only problem is poor planning of the local administration. There is only one or two public entry to the lake site. Road side property (houses/ hotels) have blocked the land from road to the lake site. There is no walking path along the lake side, except in a couple of places of very limited length.

    Personally I think it is a little bit of a strange place.

    Personally I think it is a little bit of a strange place. There are many so-called wanne-be Dutch celebrities, who are just not that. Many Porsches, Mercedesses etc. that they most likely use for shopping mostly. They eat pretend-to-be-luxury food at the Harbour Club, they show a bit off with their affluence in a cheap way, and I never seen so many Botox and Filler bill boards as there. The town made me almost feel like Hilversum aan Zee, Baarn aan Zee, Amstelveen aan Zee, Laren aan Zee, Jordaan aan Zee, except the sea is not the sea, but in fact a group of centuries old man-made "lakes" (small ones) from the time they used the top soil layers as peat; the yachts are not really yachts; it is all a bit by-gone glory. That said: it does have its own, different kind of charm, just because of this.

    On the same week this has been my second time in this hotel and I confirm my previous review . We had a very nice stay and in this occasion we also have the opportunity to try the restaurant that is in a very nice location with its view on the lake, friendly service, we just had a very light meal so I can't really say nothing about the food a part that my goat cheese salad was too sweet I think for the balsamico glaze that they added by the way not a big deal .

    Location of the accommodation was fantastic. The house was located on an island and you needed to row to get to and from. The whole family loved it and were arguments over who got to row each time. The Loosdrecht area was beautiful with lots of water based activities and close enough to Utrecht and Amsterdam that we could get a real taste of the Netherlands. We will definitely return.

    We didn’t notice the information in the message about the additional sleeping place for a child, that I have to unfold the sofa bed by myself (usually sleeping arrangements are ready before arrival at a hotel/apartment), so our child ended up sleeping with us. Overall, it was okay — the bedding was clean, there was coffee, tea, creamer, a kettle, basic dishes, and a microwave.
