Bodø isnt a common or popular tourist destination for most visitors to Norway but it has a lot to offer, from restaurants, beaches, nature hikes and excursions, northern lights, and of course not to forget Saltstraumen. Bodo has much to offer visitors.
Bodo has much to offer visitors. It has a convenient bus service. If you enjoy hiking and cycling there are many routes in and around the town. Take the 40 minute bus ride to the beautiful pink beach, Mjelle. Take your bicycle on the Moskenes ferry to Lofoten Island for the day. I was here only one day and unfortunately during bad weather (not terrible rain, but very windy) but I still walked through the whole city and wish I had more time to go to the surrounding beaches and hiking trails. My room was very clean, peaceful and comfortable, with a lovely open view over the roofs of Bodø and towards the sea. The breakfast selection is another highlight. Even a vegetarian will find lots to eat: chia pudding, smoothies, pastries, fresh bread, pancakes, eggs… Also several different kinds of tea, which is quite rare!
