A lovely little town on the shores of Norway's largest lake, Lake Mjøsa. Gjøvik town centre is pleasant with plenty of restaurants - I recommend the Fauno pizza place - and car parking. It's 40 km south of Lillehammer and 170 km north of Oslo and is an ideal stopover on the long drive south to Oslo or Torp airports. Well equipped, comfortable beds and in a peaceful area a short drive away from Gjøvik. We stayed over the Easter holidays and had a fire going in the evening, lovely! Must be fantastic in the summer as well with bathing and barbecue opportunities down by Mjøsa.
