Great area for a weekend or just to break a long drive over...
Great area for a weekend or just to break a long drive over the mountains. Will definitely go back. Lovely thoughtful details, chairs and a rug by the waterside, a rowing boat to borrow, a sauna for after your swim in the glacialmelt water. Breathtaking views, free boat and kayak rental. The host was incredibly kind and showed us everything we needed to know. Far away from the usual tourist crowds. Everyone fell in love with this small, peaceful place – a hidden gem that leaves a lasting impression. Sadly we stayed only one Night. Hjelle is scenic little village on the lake, we liked that it wasn't crowded with lots of tourists like Geiranger. We hiked to Segestad Mountine Farm, which was great and we were the only persons on the trail. We slept 1 night in a clean, small 'house' with fine beds. There is common bathroom with hot water available for couple of minutes. It's enough though. Location is pretty nice.
