The host was kind enough to provide a complimentary upgrade of our room for all 3 nights. The suite with sea view was fantastic. Spectacular view from the room. The house was very clean . The host kindly approved a late check out and offered to store our luggage till evening. Breakfast items ( museli, coffee etc are available in the kitchen). Loved our stay . 5 star experience.

The bed, it’s so comfortable. The location, Reine is tiny, but it’s right in the center. Fridge and kettle available (instant coffee and tea too). Room was really spacious (two comfortable chairs and a coffee table). Beautiful views. Very clean.

The interior and exterior were both beautiful, and the property is very close to the Reinebringen hike. The villa is clearly well cared for and the host shared some great suggestions for activities and history about the house and area. The back porch was wonderful for reading while sitting out in the sun.

    Perfect spot.

    Perfect spot. Very quiet as there was only a few cabins near by but still close enough to things that are going on. Views were amazing from the cabin with a decked seating at the front of the property with views of the sea and the mountains. Just beautiful. We ate at Anita’s restaurant. We also ate from a take away cabin in Flakstadoya, well worth going there. It was delicious. Sorry we didn’t have time to kayak in Reine

    Beautiful town!

    Beautiful town! Try to be there when there aren't tour busses full of people. During the summer and the midnight sun it's really pleasant at night. Our highlight was hiking the Reinebringen - twice! Once at night, once in the morning. We also watched for orcas, which we heard were sighted pretty often that week but we didn't see them. Highly recommend staying at the Sakrisoy Gjestegård but it's easiest to get around if you have a car.

    The excellent location and spacious unit Near public transport. The buses stop just outside. They should do something about the fire alarm which goes off at slight cooking. Otherwise excellent property great views.

    Reine is a spectacular location but without a car you need...

    Reine is a spectacular location but without a car you need to plan carefully on how to get around on the buses, and use the Reis app. We stayed on Sakriskoy which has 2 excellent restaurants. The Underhuset run by a very welcoming Mexican proprietor who cooks marvellously, and Anita's seafood.

    To start off, we went during the winter season (we were there fro March 18-20th). As amazing as the winter views are during the time we went, honestly I would not recommend going during the winter for the first time, especially if you are not an experienced hiker as the snow and storms limit many of the activities you can do around the area. Of course, this is a different story if you are going specifically FOR winter related actives, then Reine can be quite the winter wonderland (though I think Tromso would be better for that, although I have never been). I wanted to do more hikes during our time there, but the snow made it quite a challenge, for example the famous Reinebergen trail was closed off and highly advised not to climb due to avalanche warning, slip hazards, and so on. Proceed with caution and enjoy the beauty!

    The Manor House Sakrisoy Gjestegard is in our opinion the best place to stay in the lower Lofoten area. Wonderful views of Reine, the whole Mountain range and Hamnoy. We had a great conversation with Jack the Manager, who gave us also some valuable tips on the best places to spot the northern lights. If you want to spoil yourself book the Suite Olstind Mountain. That's truly one of a kind accommodation. Thanks again Jack, we hope to meet you on the road one day!
