    Very picturesque island, two days is more than enough to...

    Very picturesque island, two days is more than enough to explore it. Sunshine is a rarity. End of season mid August. Place for camper vans to park. One shop and one cafe. You can buy only beer in a shop, no alcohol. For a harder spirits you need to travel to Tromso. Bring your food if you can, shops sells very simple and not very good staff. More or less decent meal you can have in an arctic hotel, which is pricey and just ok, no more, choice is limited.

    The Sommarøy Arctic hotel seahouse was absolutely amazing and really well planned for observation of the northern lights. The views were wonderful and our family really enjoyed the sauna to sea to sauna experience during our polar plunge. We were able to cook vegetarian food in our kitchen and facilities were nice and warm.

    Located right on a beach in Sommarøy. The Host Olivier was a great host and great company if your looking for it. It is a well organised community lodge with great facilities everything you need. I would love to come back again!
