We had a beautiful room with a view of Lake Tekapo. Everything you need was there. The accommodation was very clean and in perfect condition. We even received a small bottle of milk for our coffee. We can recommend the accommodation and would stay here again.

Clean and very well equipped. Had all amenities we could have ever asked for, including a hob, laundry machine and heating in the toilet. Conveniently located within 3mins drive to the town centre. Staff were very helpful, who helped us find an ipad that we left behind so we could come back to get it the next day.

Beautiful modern apartment, lot of sun light, very spacious and nice outside deck. Views from the house are lovely, quiet environment and walking distance from the township. The house is fully equipped, feel just like at home. My best accommodation is the South Island. I would come back and stay there longer without hesitating.

    I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.

    Lake Tekapo will continue to be a place I will come back for...

    Lake Tekapo will continue to be a place I will come back for my holidays and invite friends and family to join. In time, I believe it will be comparable to Wanaka, Queenstown but with more relaxing atmosphere. Hope to see more eateries / restaurants / fine dining in due course.

    It is a perfect pit stop if anyone travelling from Christchuch to Wanaka. We picked our car at Christchurch airport & continued to Lake Tekapo (took around 3 - 3.5 hrs with multiple stops) and stayed here overnight. There are a few reasonable restaurants available close to the hotel in Lake Takepo and most of them close around 8.30 pm. Following next day morning we checked out & visited the famous Shepherd church & lake Tekapo which are next to each other & close to the village shop centre. It is a beautiful location with all the necessary arrangements & perfect pit stop as I said before.

    Beautiful place for family and friends or individuals.

    Beautiful place for family and friends or individuals. Not like Queenstown which gave me a city feeling and the traffic was like Auckland CBD. For people who look for nature, not shopping and plenty of eating, I would recommend Tekapo, but not Queenstown. I like the Chinese restaurant there and the Lakeview. Also very easy ro get around Tekapo.

    Such a beautiful town with amazing views and even more amazing food options! Mackenzies cafe bar and grill was a really nice restaurant and even had colouring in things for the kids. Chicken nuggets were a little pricey but well worth it just for the adult meals The church was really cool to see as well as the bridge

    Tekapo is a beautiful town on the edge of the lake and...

    Tekapo is a beautiful town on the edge of the lake and mountains. We went in winter and the view of the lake with snow on the surrounding mountains was lovely. Our reason for staying was to do a flight over the mountains with Air Safari's. That was the highlight of our trip to New Zealand, absolutely magical.

    It is very clean, well equipped and thoughtfully decorated. Everything is so homey. The accessible bathroom is a bonus for our elderly family members. The host is also very kind and responsive, sending us reminder and everything we need to know. Among the eight different accommodations (motels, serviced apartment, hotels etc.) I stayed during my 2-week New Zealand trip, this place is on the top two :) Highly recommended!

    Location was perfect. Walking distance to town centre and the beach. The park was jam packed with tourists using cabins, caravan places and hostel facilities, however felt super private and peaceful. The room was spacious with fantastic views of lake tekapo. Kitchenette in the private cabins were great, cant cook in them, though the shared bbqs and kitchens are just outside the door.
