The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set. This is an amazing experience, our second trip. Have done both the lunch & dinner experience. Food, staff & experience rate a 10. Had a great meal at Sofra, food & staff were great. Breakfast at The Rich Coffee Cafe was nice and the staff were ok. Matamata was a complete surprise.
Matamata was a complete surprise. We ate at 4 different restaurants and each place had friendly staff and good selections on the menus. The information centre staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room itself is perfect and spotless and it was great to have the decking outside to chill on. So many lovely little touches, like the homemade breakfast and the bottle of port to have a drink under the stars. Also loved being able to go and feed the friendly sheep and goats on the property.
