We loved our stay at Mountain Views. The home was clean, fresh, warm and inviting. Small extra touches like chocolates and games show how much the hosts care, especially for families with children. The location is superb, a short distance from the hot pools. Highly recommend.

This is the best property any of us have rented before. The house layout was fantastic and everything about the house was clean and comfortable. The house had everything you never think to bring but end up needing in the kitchen, the bathrooms were a fantastic size and the bedrooms were so comfortable with great bedding and extra if needed. We were all blown away by the way the house was presented to us on arrival and we will definitely book this house again next year. The hosts were so accomodating and had amazing communication.

Very spacious and comfy. It’s a real old school bach which is charming in itself. The fireplace was so warm and cosy and filled the place with a lovely homely feeling. The owners went out of their way to help us with storage of our luggage both before and after our stay which helped us incredibly. Great stay, would recommend to anyone.

Amazing communication from Jeremy, accommodated to every request we had and very pleasant, all while being super busy!! The home is beautiful and spacious, exceeded all expectations. The staff were excellent even giving us a lift to Opuke Spa and picking us up afterwards. Food in the pub was very good.

    Opuke Thermal Pools & Spa are a must see, must do. World class! The mountains are beautiful. If you have transport, close by is Ashburton, Lake Coleridge and much more. The information centre in Methven, "I-Hub" is a wealth of information and things to do. Off the beaten track, an alive, looked after, vibrant small town NZ with genuine charm and a smile. My wife and I loved it, we will be back.

    Methven is a good place to stay if you are planning a few...

    Methven is a good place to stay if you are planning a few days skiing in the winter, be prepared for closed days. I would go for self catering as the standard of service and quality of food is much the same as what you could do at home. If you are prepared to pay top dollar there may be somewhere that is high standard, I never found it. On closed days you can walk the Fairy Trial by the racecourse, go to the hot pools try not to eat there unless you are prepared to wait 40 minutes to an hour for your food, beverages may not be up to standard. There are also other tracks in the bush not far from Methven that you can do a 30 to 3 hour walk. Catch the bus up the mountain its much less stressful than driving.

    Safe, friendly, small and cozy town, a stone's

    Safe, friendly, small and cozy town, a stone's throw from one of the best ski fields in NZ. Our hire car wasn't locked all day with all our gear in it, nothing was disturbed , it's just a really nice town and the two pubs have great food, just leave your gumboots off

    I would highly recommend this accommodation to everyone staying in Methven. . Excellent value for money . Roaring fire . Extremely clean in all areas . Beds were made up beautifuly and so comfortable . A quick strol to the pubs and restaurant and shops. . Mountain views . The bar and restaurant were lovely What more could one ask.for!!!

    Hot pools were brilliant loved the adults only section.

    Hot pools were brilliant loved the adults only section. The Brown and Blue pubs were good and lively. The Dubliner was disappointing this time round it has turned into more of a restaurant than a bar - no atmosphere at all which was a shame as we have enjoyed this pub in the past.

    I highly recommend a stay.

    I highly recommend a stay. The beds are super comfortable, the food amazing, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. This has become our favourite place to go to for a weekend away. The restaurant has toys and books for kids too.

    Very nicely made beds with tight white crisp sheets of high quality cotton, hotel standard. The owners were away, so we had the place to ourselves. They were totally available on the phone however. They also had a very friendly cat and off-street parking. This review is for one night but in reality we were there for three as there were two bookings done back to back.

    Location was great, just in the center of Methven. Room was clean, warm and looked nice. Staff was very helpful and nice. Big living room/kitchen with equipment and fireplace. Upstairs there was gaming-/tv-room with comfortable sofas. Great place in every way and not too expensive.
