This was such a lovely property. It is decorated so nicely, the couch and beds were comfy. The pillows were amazing. Jo was great. We were arriving late so she messaged to see if we wanted the heating, electric blankets and lights on when we arrived. The house was warm. The little extras like milk in the fridge, electric blankets and a chocolate left on each bed was very much appreciated. Plenty of plugs in the bedrooms was also great.

What Guests Said About Methven:

A great little town with so much to offer.

A great little town with so much to offer. The Blue Pub had great food suitable for all the family's tastes. Everything you could want is available in the town. Lots of activities to do and the Opuke Pools are a must. We had the kids with us so didn't get to experience the adults only side of things where private pools and dining are available.

Opuke Thermal Pools & Spa are a must see, must do. World class! The mountains are beautiful. If you have transport, close by is Ashburton, Lake Coleridge and much more. The information centre in Methven, "I-Hub" is a wealth of information and things to do. Off the beaten track, an alive, looked after, vibrant small town NZ with genuine charm and a smile. My wife and I loved it, we will be back.

Methven is a good place to stay if you are planning a few...

Methven is a good place to stay if you are planning a few days skiing in the winter, be prepared for closed days. I would go for self catering as the standard of service and quality of food is much the same as what you could do at home. If you are prepared to pay top dollar there may be somewhere that is high standard, I never found it. On closed days you can walk the Fairy Trial by the racecourse, go to the hot pools try not to eat there unless you are prepared to wait 40 minutes to an hour for your food, beverages may not be up to standard. There are also other tracks in the bush not far from Methven that you can do a 30 to 3 hour walk. Catch the bus up the mountain its much less stressful than driving.

Safe, friendly, small and cozy town, a stone's throw from one of the best ski fields in NZ. Our hire car wasn't locked all day with all our gear in it, nothing was disturbed , it's just a really nice town and the two pubs have great food, just leave your gumboots off

I would highly recommend this accommodation to everyone staying in Methven. . Excellent value for money . Roaring fire . Extremely clean in all areas . Beds were made up beautifuly and so comfortable . A quick strol to the pubs and restaurant and shops. . Mountain views . The bar and restaurant were lovely What more could one ask.for!!!

Hot pools were brilliant loved the adults only section. The Brown and Blue pubs were good and lively. The Dubliner was disappointing this time round it has turned into more of a restaurant than a bar - no atmosphere at all which was a shame as we have enjoyed this pub in the past.

We were so impressed by our experience with Methven Resort. The staff were awesome, we had dinner at the restaurant and everything was so delicious, there was a surprise continental breakfast included, our beds were comfy, the room was nice & clean, the value for money was exceptional, there were toys & activities that our young children enjoyed, and the location was perfect for access to Mt Hutt ski field. A great stay that we would highly recommend!

We loved our two-night stay at Ski Time. Everything was very comfortable, the breakfast was exceptional and abundant, and the location was very convenient - close to the pools, the centre and a short drive to the ski fields. Recommended and will stay again if we come back to Methven.

Home away from home is 2.minutes from the centre of Methven and 3 minutes from Opuke Spa. From the backyard, you can see Mount Hutt. It is super spacious, clean, warm and inviting. And the beds and linens were super comfortable.

Nicely located in the centre of Methven. I could hear the pub music in my room but luckily they turned the music off around 9.30-10pm. It came in handy to have a sink and mirror in the bedroom. Everything was clean.
