    All in all it was a very good experience staying and I would stay there again. The unit was nice and clean and the staff were very welcoming. The local Indian restaurant is the best Indian food I have ever had and the service was exceptional not to mention that the prices are very reasonable. We tried to get into the Thai but it was fully booked. We went to another restaurant down by the beach which was upstairs but it was so noisy that it was to hard to hear. We were down for a funeral and had a car so very easy to get around the area.

    Unfortunately we were there for a family funeral.

    Unfortunately we were there for a family funeral. So did not visit the beach. However we did enjoy Two Fat Chefs for breakfast the next morning. We were able to dine out the back as we had our small dog with us.

    There is easy access to the beach, which is pleasant to walk along. Plenty of food options are available, such as cafes, takeaways, restaurants, etc. The local shops are a nice change. It is a friendly community with a pleasant summer environment.

    A long beach which is tidal so check tides as the beach does...

    A long beach which is tidal so check tides as the beach does disappear sometimes when the tide is high. A good beach for walking along when it is not too windy. If the wind is blowing it may not be so pleasant. Waterfront Cafe is located at this beach and it was really relaxed and good food.

    Our choice of this motel was for convenient for visiting...

    Our choice of this motel was for convenient for visiting friends and relatives in the area. We did walk along the beach on a cold and windy day and enjoyed watching the activities on the beach. The shops and eating places we visited were of a high standard.

    The unit was very clean and tidy.

    The unit was very clean and tidy. The bathroom and spa bath was amazing except we ran out of hot water.. Bed was comfortable. We have no bad review. Small note. No tea towel as we like to wash and dry our dishes we use. No chopping board either.

    Great location, only a one minute walk to Paraparaumu Beach; the room was private, secluded, which suited us; the bathroom facilities were very clean and efficient; wonderful to have breakfast foods available, along with coffee/tea supplies. We appreciated the leafy-tree environment at the back of the room which cooled the temperature down.

    I stayed at a 4 star hotel in Ashburton when it had a special discounted price and this hotel (Paraparaumu one) was very similar with comfortable bed, virtually all sky channels, self contained kitchen and ensuite (which had a spa). So I’m wondering what was so special about the other place.
