We so loved the peaceful surroundings and the quiet. It has a lovely relaxed and homely feel. We stayed for two nights but could easily have found plenty to explore with a few more days.

The accommodation was so thoroughly cleaned, the bed was really comfortable, there was a table to eat - I did not miss a thing. But mostly, the staff was so incredibly kind and hospitable. When I arrived at Lake Mahinapua, I had caught quite a bad fever and they did absolutely everything to make sure I was looked after (from giving me a room on a more quiet side of the complex, to making sure I had eaten, et cetera). Words cannot express how much I did appreciate that as a solo traveller.

Well equipped kitchen, washing machine, but tumble dryer is in the laundry room Parking beside the cottage Short drive to the sunset point and supermarket Hokitika is a beautiful town, beautiful sunset, beautiful gorge, treetop walk, delicious food, much to be explored, we stayed two nights there.
