SwedenWe had an amazing view from our room. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room itself was extremely cosy and warm. Sue and David were lovely hosts who prepared us a delicious breakfast and then showed us some of the animals on the farm. We wish we could have stayed more nights! A highly recommended gem of accommodation, surrounded by beautiful nature. The best part was when their adorable cat came into our room for some cuddles!

AustraliaThe breakfast was good and service was excellent. The accommodation was comfortable and we loved the farm animals and maze. We stayed in one of the huts which had an outdoor deck which was perfect for a glass of wine and the shared kitchen had everything needed.

Unfortunately the unit we stayed in was infested with ants which were in the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. We awoke to find them in our beds and crawling all over us. Most unpleasant experience. I advised the manager but he didn't really apologise and I believe he was aware of the situation. His response was that he would need to get a pest controller in. Taihape has a captive client base as everyone has to travel through there. McDonald's doesn't open till 10am for breakfast. There are various degrees or quality of food outlets. There is a good cheap fuel outlet which I think is Waitomo. We were directed to either subway or the roast shop beside it. The roast shop smelt heavily of cigarette smoke so we opted for subway which was clean and tidy. Taihape could do with more quality cafes. I go through often and normally target the army museum as my stop off point as the food is quality and predictable. Great resting place on our journey South and then again on our way North. We enjoyed being able to walk around the town and loved our time in the Brown Sugar Cafe. Taihape is a quaint quiet country town.
Taihape is a quaint quiet country town. The locals are a friendly lot and like to have a chat. I didn’t venture out much during my 2 days there but when I did,it was relatively easier to find my way around.
