Taupo is a family friendly destination with many activities available around the lake. However it can be very busy during popular season such as the Christmas break, so making a plan to visit in advance would be my recommendation. The geothermal sites and great walks very accessible from this area. Hukka falls is amazing. The mud pools and geothermal parks are about 30 minutes from this site. Great choice of water front restaurants to choice from that are 5 minute drive away.Guest review byMichelle
