Nearby Puketi kauri forest walk; day trip to Oponone and Waipoua forest; Tauranga Bay peninsula half day drive; Kerikeri town centre with hanging baskets of flowers, and the stone store; Paihia and Waitangi trip with side trip to Haruru Falls if willing to take 6km hike. We self catered except for fish & chip lunch in Paihia (down the side road not the one on the waterfront) great value.
