I really like Whanganui & have visited often.
I really like Whanganui & have visited often. The city centre is lovely & there aren't food shops all over the place. This time I bought stuff from the supermarket to eat but I know some of the cafes are good. There should be a register of decent New Zealanders who respect motels so that they are looked after properly when they book for a visit. Some of the reviews appear to be vetted to show only good stuff. Unfortunately, the motels I know are good are usually booked out. I like this old heritage town.
I like this old heritage town. It has some lovely parks and grand old buildings. Walking by the river is pleasant and Bushy Park is an enjoyable visit. I enjoyed breakfast at the Orange cafe in town. Whanganui is warm.
Whanganui is warm. The city centre is flat for older folk to walk around as is the interesting cemetary at Aramoho. There are the beach, the river, parks and gardens. Also the museum, art gallery and shops from several op shops through to a huge The Warehouse.Guest review byMarion

The small cabine and its tiny but private bathroom was extremely cozy and warm for us: my partner, our puppy, me and the baby to be. Cabine and common area were spotless cleaned, and the bedsheets were smelling just great! On top of it all, the friendly staff made our staying even more fortunate.
