The property is beautiful. It feels (as the owner hopes it will) like a home away from home. But it also feels like a calm and lush Oasis in the middle of the desert mountains next to a lively little city. Everything is a combination of new and/or well thought out, and it's clear Ahmed has taken great care to craft a wonderful experience for his guests. He's there when you need him but will leave you to yourselves otherwise. It's been a long time since I experienced this type of traditional Arab hospitality at a hotel (was my partner's first time experiencing it). Staying here was a delight. It's also a really convenient location -- about 50 minutes from Wadi Damm / 90 minutes from Bat/Al Ayn Beehives... 15 minutes from Misfat al Abriyeen... 40 minutes from Nizwa... and he's arranged so you can get really yummy local food delivered from a nearby restaurant.

The view really stands for its name. Once you are up the hill (4x4 is very much recommended) you have a stunning view over al hambra. The people are very friendly and welcoming. The food was very good (it is a buffet not a la carte) and all the rooms have a nice view. You can visit a lot of interesting sights which are close to the hotel.

Beautiful historic mud house very well renovated and decorated! The rooftop terrace has an amazing view of palm trees and on the mountain. The owners are also very friendly and helpful. Great stay at Alqalah Inn!

We loved this place! It smelt so clean and was so clean the moment we stepped foot inside. There js a communal kitchen, but we also had a fridge in our room. There was a beautiful place in the back to sit and relax. Hamed arranged a tour for us to Jabal Shams and it was so convenant and fantastic and well priced. Honestly this place exceeded my expectations.

    We stayed in Old Al Hamra at the Al Bait Aljabal Hospitality...

    We stayed in Old Al Hamra at the Al Bait Aljabal Hospitality Inn which was wonderful. Beautifully artistically decorated. The very helpful owner found a local guide for us Abdul Rahman Alabri to take us in his 4x4 to Jebel Shams to do the Balcony Walk. AbdulRachman was truly excellent with a lovely kind personality. Very informative. I would never have managed the Balcony Walk without him as, although a hill walker, I can experience a fear of heights. The Balcony Walk has big drops on it though you are never truly exposed. Being with a local guy who knew what he was doing gave me confidence. His cousin owns a lovely cafe Saef in amongst the palm trees in old Al Hamra. You really are away from the commercial side of tourism there. Al Hamra can act as a base for many other places in the mountains. Easy to get to Misfah for example

    Traditional and very quite place in the middle of a small...

    Traditional and very quite place in the middle of a small heritage village. Friendly and helpful staff. As a family of five, we had booked two rooms. One with bathroom, the other one had shared bathroom on the floor. All very clean and comfortable to use. Great old style Omani flair within the house. Definitely suitable for families and well located to have day trips around the area as there is plenty to see and all nearby. 24/7 access, however, check-in before 11pm recommended. We would have appreciated a breakfast included in our price.

    I love Al Hamra and it’s a good base for exploring nearby...

    I love Al Hamra and it’s a good base for exploring nearby locations. You can see all my info on those locations from my trips there at glimpsesofuae.com to get a better idea. Misfat al Abraeen is very close and Jebel Shams is nearby if you like hiking.

    Picturesque location, old-mud houses, palm trees & great hiking trail - feels like you traveled back in time. Definitely a must visit. Check out Misfat Al Abreeyen for great adventure & drop by at The View Hotel for chill moments while watching suset.

    1. Location of the Hotel is excellent with good view. 2. Staff is very friendly and helpful. 3. Food (Buffet) is very good. 4. Swimming pool is having a good view Additionally, I would like to Appreciate the Hotel staff for allowing me Late checkout as i suddenly fall very very sick a night before checkout day. The additional 2 hours of rest before late checkout really helped me in long drive back to city. Much appreciated!! Thank you so much.

    We had a really nice arrival. The owner gave us a warm welcome and told us a lot about their culture. The room was small but cosy. Dinner and breakfast was traditional and special. We also came back for a second night. We were invited by the host to have dinner with him and his family and friend. Again a warm welcome and a special moment for us.

    Double or Twin Room were decent and nice. Standard Room were standard enough for 2 bed and to keep some luggage. All Rooms had outside bathroom (not inside room), considering its a village Mud House type Hotel so pretty ok, understood, no complain. Bathroom were spacious, good and clean. Good to Stay, nice Mud house village experience

    Its an easy hostel that started beginning 2022 but already made good progress. Rooms are clean and the distance to the Jabal Shams hikes is small. Location wise it's pretty perfect.
