Staying in Koofan Heritage Lodge will take you back centuries as you will be immersed in Oman's authentic architecture, food and meet the friendly owner of the place and learn about the history of the place and about his ancestors. I highly recommend not only coming in for a visiting but staying here instead of a modern hotel to feel what the rich Oman's past has to offer. The Lodge houses a museum, and views over the old town of Taqa. The place is equipped with wifi, hot water and friendly customer service, hence you can enjoy all the comforts of the modern world, while enjoying an immersion into the past. This was the second time I stayed in Koofan Lodge, and will do so again if I visit Dhofar in the future.

- Exceptional service from a wonderful team, huge spacious and peaceful facilities, beautiful gardens and beaches - Rasha and Islam from reception were extremely friendly, the concierge team, Rima, Hussein, Manoj and Raj from the breakfast room and restaurants were excellent, Maan from the room service and pool bar made the best cocktails and was great to chat too, and Azmir and his housekeeping were the best ever!     Amazing lagoon landscape, with direct beach access. Beach is amazingly white, clean and you can walk in quite far - depending on the waves, only. Exceptionally beautiful "holiday town" Hawana Salalah with many different lagoons, private villas, 3 large 5-star resorts, some shops, restaurants. Approx. 15km from Salalah town / airport. So, you should rent a car straight from the airport. Great excursions going up into the mountains ... sand dunes, waterfalls (depending on the season), Hiob's graveyard, Taqah castle + fortress etc. ... nice big shopping malls in Salalah

    Salalah is a unique mix of nature, calmness, and culture. We loved driving through the lush mountains and enjoying the cool khareef weather. The waterfalls and green valleys were breathtaking. It’s easy to get around by car, and there are plenty of scenic stops. Great for couples looking for a quiet, refreshing escape. Don’t miss the local frankincense market and beach sunsets!

    A beautiful city to visit!

    A beautiful city to visit! I went in mid-July, just before it got crowded. There are plenty of places to explore with diverse landscapes—Wadi Darbat, Mughsail Beach, and Atin Mountain were my personal favorites. I recommend renting a car and exploring on your own; it's easy to get around using GPS, and having at least an SUV makes the trip more comfortable. And don’t miss the chance to try Oman’s famous dish, Madhbi, along with other camel meat options. Everyone recommends visiting in August when there’s more rain and the waterfalls are in full flow. Just keep in mind that it might be harder to walk around some areas due to the wet conditions.

    A very nice hotel in Salalah. Besides the good location and amenities I would like to make a special point regarding very friendly personnel. First of all our room has been upgraded from Standard to Apartment. The pool was closed for maintenance but we were notified well in advance. And even though the beach club was closed due to low season and high waves they opened it just for the two of us. Totally perfect customer service. All in all a very pleasant experience.

    This 3 star hotel is in a quiet beach front location a 10 minute drive from the centre of Salalah town. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff friendly and welcoming. There is a restaurant which is open for breakfast and dinner, but only until 9.00 pm. There is no bar but if you want a beer the Crowne Plaza is a 10 minute walk along a road with pavement and street lighting.

    The place is perfect! A long (and a little bit shallow) pool is a couple of minutes away; the beach is accessible through the Rotana grounds in 10-15 minutes of a pleasant walk. Inside the unit everything is new and works perfectly. Hassan, who manages this property, is very efficient and helpful - a real Omani.
