Staying at the newly renovated DBP was incredible. We were welcomed to a private part of the island by Marcus, the owner—warm, gentle, and genuinely attentive—who made sure our stay exceeded expectations. It happened to be my wife’s birthday, and Marcus and his local team went out of their way to make it unforgettable. Bonus points for DBP’s eco-friendly vision and passion. And the unbelievable wow factor? Kayaking through the bay alongside pods of dolphins—pure magic for any nature lover!

I have to say that it was one of the best hostel experiences I've ever had. The hostel itself is clean, spacious and has a really welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are all friendly and helpful, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. I had an amazing time here and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to chill, read a book, meet new people, enjoy the nature and an amazing ocean view. A special thanks to my friend Marco that, as a part of the staff, was a huge factor in making my stay so amazing. I can't thank him enough for his kindness and hospitality, and I hope to stay at Bambuda again in the future. Finally, a shout-out to the kitchen chef! I had the best meals in Panamá because of his dinners! Thank you!

It was absolute paradise. The owners are extremely nice and they cook (very tasty) , clean and do the tours all themselves. We felt comfortable and welcome from the first minute. If we could have we would have stayed a few more days. Hope to see you soon :)

Its a beautiful house, basic and at the same time very comfortable with everything you need. You can see the place is built and decorated by people who know what you need when backpacking. We visited during the rainy season and the restaurants of the resorts nearby were partly closed, but when open had good food.

Fabrice & Judith offer wonderful hospitality. The location is beautiful and is well kept. We were inspired by the magnificent work in building and maintaining the lodge and surroundings. It really feels like a lodge that blends in the jungle perfectly. I hope we will have the opportunity to visit them again soon.

Staying at La Loma Lodge was nothing short of magical. The lodge is beautifully tucked away in the rainforest, surrounded by vibrant wildlife and the serene sounds of nature. The accommodation was stunning — open-air, thoughtfully designed, and deeply connected to the environment. Every detail feels intentional, from the comfortable beds to breathtaking views of the forest, to having privacy from other rooms, to having two hammocks, to toilet paper holders ;). It’s the perfect balance of charm and comfort. The food and drinks deserve their own spotlight. Most ingredients are grown right on the property (even the pepper on the table and hot sauce are so), and every meal (and also the non-alcoholic drinks) is fresh and absolutely delicious. Dining at La Loma is more than a meal — it’s an experience and you’ve even got the best view of the bay ever from the restaurant. But what truly makes La Loma exceptional is the people. The hosts and staff are welcoming, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and chocolate farm. Their care for sustainability and respect for the environment shines through in everything they do. From hiking through the cacao farm and learning about chocolate-making to trying different local fruits and spotting sloths right from the restaurant, every moment was unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place that’s more than just a stay — a place that connects you with nature and leaves you feeling inspired — La Loma Lodge is it. Without a doubt, one of the most remarkable travel experiences we’ve ever had. Make sure you stay a bit longer than we did, one night was definitely not enough.
