It was perfect. From the first message i sent to staff via booking to the last transfer to railway station. Amazing place, thank you so much! They helped us with everything: transfer, driver, guide. Breakfast was so good, we really enjoyed. Staff was very friendly. Dinner was good too, thanks to chef. It was warm in the room, we had a fireplace and a nice view.

It's a lovely property in a very good location. We were so busy during our stay that we didn't have time to enjoy the gardens. The owner is helpful and so patient with my broken Spanish. Another employee who also works at the front desk speaks perfect English. The room was spacious and clean with a wonderful hot shower. The breakfast was very nice.

Everything was amazing, the staff are lovely, the hotel has a beautiful mountain view, is tidy, breakfast is fresh and delicious, the room is spacious, clean, bed and hot shower are great after a long day walking and wondering around the sacred valley. When we arrived Alex made us feel like home and we really felt home at Tierra Inka and we’ll definitely be back :)

great price and great location. Sandra and Yuri were friendly and helpful. they helped organise a taxi to take us on a day trip to nearby sites as there were no regular tours available from the town that day. breakfast was nice too. room had a nice balcony with a view of the ruins

    Awesome characterful town well worth an overnight stay. We would love to return. The archeological site is stunning but don’t forget to spend some time exploring Pinkuylluma. The hike is steep and challenging but short and so worth it.

    Strongly recommend to stay in the city instead of doing your...

    Strongly recommend to stay in the city instead of doing your Machu Picchu trip from Cusco directly. It would be much less tiring and the city of Ollantaytambo is very cosy and comfortable. Specially if you are coming from outside Cusco and flying in, my recommendation to fly into Cusco and go straight to Ollantaytambo, stay here and visit Machu Picchu. Following by this, go back to Cusco for your stay and fly back. This was a good way we thought to beat the potential high altitude sickness.

    Ollantaytambo is a very interesting place in itself.

    Ollantaytambo is a very interesting place in itself. It can also be used as a starting point to visit Machu Picchu and other interesting archeological sites around. It's about 2 hours from Cusco by taxy.

    A delightful small town set in dramatic scenery. A bustling town square and a quieter and interesting old quarter with a variety of bars and restaurants The two sets of ruins either side of town are worth a visit for the views.

    If going to Machu Picchu or hiking the inca trail, it's better to stay in Ollantaytambo than Cusco. Otherwise you have a 2 hour bus drive to Ollantaytambo anyway to catch the train. Cute old Incan town with amazing ruins.

    Just an amazing place.

    Just an amazing place. We loved it so much we were afraid Cuzco wouldn’t measure up (but it did). Great place to acclimate for the higher altitude of Cuzco. There is a free hike up the mountain, the square is a great place to relax and people watch, the people are friendly.

    Absolutely loved Ollantaytambo and Sauce Boutique Hotel is very central. Close to main plaza, rail station, markets and local attractions. We were well looked after by all the staff and in particular Herve and Mary on the front desk (apologies if spelling names incorrectly). Breakfast was included in the cost and consisted of fresh fruits, yoghurt and cereal, eggs, toast or breads with cold meat and cheeses. On the day we had an early start to visit Machu Picchu we were provided with ‘breakfast to go’.

    A really lovely hotel literally on the train station platform. Don’t let this put you off as the trains do not run at night so there is no noise from that. The hotel has beautiful gardens, has a wonderful design aesthetic, delicious food and very friendly staff. The hotel has a farm, coffee roasters and distillery which can visit and meet lovely people who tell you everything. Ollantaytambo is also a great little town and has a great buzz with lots of people arriving by train. We loved this hotel.

    This is a small hotel within walking distance from the town square. It's simple but still charming, clean and quiet. We decided to stay in Ollantaytambo ("Ollanta") instead of Machu Picchu Pueblo (ex Aguas Calientes) which turned out to be a good choice. Ollanta is a nice little village with their own inca-heritage. The train station is easy accessable for the morning train to Machu. The staff (mother and daughter?) in the hotel is helpful and friendly. Would we stay there again? Yes, probably.

    The room was spacious and clean. Shower had hot water and good pressure. There are two beautiful internal gardens where you can spend time relaxing. The rooms are displayed around these gardens. Ollantaytambo is a small walkable town. We took a tuk tuk from the hostal to get to the train station because we had a big suitcase.

Views of surrounding mountains, the ruins and a lovely garden. Also 5-minute walk to train station. Breakfast was better than described in previous posts.
