It's an interesting but busy and noisy city. The best parts are OUTSIDE the city. Waterfalls, mountains, scenic views, and the Blue Lake (Laguna Azul) are all highlights. It's a nice city but not as amazing as others in Peru. Plenty to do if you're young and adventurous, and some good attractions nearby including the town of Llamas and its Castle and several waterfalls. A lot of excellent restaurants and the "Plaza de Armas" (town square) is brand new and very impressive. The city is noisy, however, and the roads are a mess. Sandra, Mercedes, and all the family are amazing, super nice, helpful, interesting. You feel at home from the beginning. It's a nice place to stay, chill, and visit around if you want. The room was nice with a private bathroom and AC. You also have rooftop to chill and a big swimming pool.
