Tumbes as a region has a lot to offer.
Tumbes as a region has a lot to offer. Many people relate to the beaches but mangroves are a MUST if you are around. The Puerto Pizarro Mangroves can be a good start, but if you can afford it I strongly recommend the National Park Mangroves near the border. As for the city, the main square is a nice and calm place where to see city life and city activities; Plazuela Bolognesi and the Malecon are nice places to see within the city. I also recommend visiting the official tourist information next to the main square, staff is kind and helps you all the way. Their map was a life saver. Most food is seafood, ideal to taste crab and black oysters. Can be hard to find vegetarian or vegan options. Transport is quite messy, be sure to know the car stops location for the different places in advance.Guest review byJOSEPeru

Fitness center has lots of options. Being connected to the mall via the restaurant was a bonus. Also, the pedestrianized street leading to the river is an island of (relative) calm in bustling Tumbes.
