We booked our stay in Lyf after staying in the Manila location and loving the concept and design. Rooms are modern and fun, with everything you need! We found there was more than enough space for 2 people. Breakfast exceeded our expectations with a generous buffet offering. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Would recommend!

Amazing service, immaculately appointed rooms and facilities, attentive but not overbearing staff, perhaps the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Great art photography in room and around the hotel. Excellent huge gym well beyond ANY hotel gym I've been to in this price range. Strong wifi everywhere. Sauna which looked like a proper Finnish sauna, though didn't try. Big pool area. Nice looking spa, but didn't go. Everywhere was very clean. Big casino downstairs and a high-end shopping mall in the same complex with tons of excellent restaurants - I recommend Yeon Hwa for Korean barbecue where you don't have to cook yourself unless you insist - and a very cozy cinema with excellent seating. All major high fashion brands, though disappointingly poor watch selection. SM Seaview mall within 10-minute ride for more shopping, restaurants and cinema. You can pretty much spend a few days at or near the hotel and have everything you need.

LOCATION: Located 30-40mins from Mactan International airport (depending on traffic) Php500. It is also a 5min walk to the Ayala Shopping Centre where there's a lot of restaurants, cafes & shops. HOTEL: So happy with this hotel! Room is BIG! Bathroom is BIG! Pillows are labeled soft/hard whichever you need. Love that it smells so good in the room, the hallway and lobby everyday. Everything is so clean. Powerpoints are universal so you won't need an adaptor to charge your devices. Breakfast included in our stay is awesome so many to choose from and coffee was great! STAFF: Always on smile and ready to help. Front desk are sooo helpful, check in and check out is flawless. Ladies at the restaurant spoiled us. The housekeeping lady Janhel made sure our bed is perfect. Our towels are perfect and she made sure everything is spotless. Thanks Janhel! I hope you got my 'thank you tip' I left for you! :)

    Cebu has its beautiful and calm areas which is awesome, however due to our location it was always an hour or so to get to these places, so my advice to future travellers is to choose a hotel outside the city centre, maybe more South West or South East where the beautiful beaches and waterfalls are situated.... A must have is Grab to get around, its safe and very affordable, however any beaches are far out of the city!

    We used a guided tour on one day and the other day we did our walk tour which was not covered in the guided tour. People were very friendly offering assistance to some of the location we wished to visit.

    This was my very first visit to the Philippines, and Cebu won me over instantly. The airport alone had me thinking, 'Wait... am I in a resort or an arrivals terminal?' But what truly blew me away were the people—some of the kindest, warmest souls I’ve ever met. I’d bottle that hospitality if I could. Now, let’s talk traffic. Honestly, when you start reminiscing fondly about Bangkok’s gridlock, you know things have gone off the rails. Cebu traffic is… character-building. But even that can’t dull the shine of this amazing place. I already can’t wait to come back—maybe with a scooter and nerves of steel next time."

If your stay will not be in the more developed areas, it is advisable to be mentally prepared for these social and environmental disparities. Generally, costs in Cebu City tend to be higher compared to other cities in the Philippines. Furthermore, it's important to note that Cebu City does not offer direct access to nearby beaches, making it less advantageous to stay here if your primary goal is a beach vacation. In the modern districts, the culinary landscape is dominated by fast-food chains and coffee shops, with a prevalence of frozen and fried foods. Finding fresh and healthy food options can be challenging. The few restaurants offering traditional or more refined cuisine are relatively expensive, giving the city an atmosphere reminiscent of classic American metropolises.

    Cebu City is what you make of it.

    Cebu City is what you make of it. If you want to have fun in Cebu get online and if possible, ask friends who live in Cebu City. Cebu is a beautiful island. Cebu City is so convenient because of the airport and sea port. Its great for travel. I like Cebu City because it is not as big as Manila and its easier to move around in the city. So many places to eat. Ive been to TOPS or Top of Cebu.. The Gardens of Leigha...Im more for hanging out in town and Mandaue and lapu Lapu fascinate me.. The rooftop at the Bai Hotel... I like the view but didnt like The Bai Hotel. Ive used the ports at pier 1 and 3 to go to Bohol and Leyte. Mactan Airport... Its a convenient city

    Cebu City has all the stores and restaurants I typically frequent in Manila. Also, Cebu City residents are much more welcoming than those in Manila. In addition, traffic in Cebu City is manageable, and drivers aren’t as aggressive as those in Manila. Basically, Cebu City has replaced Manila as my “go to” city” in the Philippines.

    My wife and I travelled for a get-away to rest and relax and we did in in comfort at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu hotel. We liked everything from the hotel staff to the room and bed comfort, hotel services and spa massage. The buffet breakfast was superb as was the concierge with readily available taxi service. The hotel location in Cebu city made our shopping and church travel quick, easy and inexpensive. We definitely will stay here again.

    Arriving early hours of the morning at Cebu airport needed somewhere that provided late checkin. Murals was perfect - short taxi ride, hassle free checki-in 4 am, sleep, late breakfast at on site cafe. Close to Cebu city malls to top up on needed supplies. Chilled vibe in communal area to relax recharge all electrics and prep for onward travel the next day. Basic facilities but all that was needed.

    I like that the bed is big and comfortable. There's a fridge, and a big screen if you wish to watch something. It is at the junction of two major thoroughfare, so commuting comes handy. If you like walking there's a small park where joggers do their sports. Ayala center is also few minutes' walk. There's a nice rooftop to enjoy the view of Cebu city.

    A really nice hotel, they are very helpful if you need anything extra. They have a super nice pool on the roof where you can look out over the city and there is also some shade and good opportunities to sit and enjoy the view, they also have good breakfast. I will definitely choose this hotel again if I go to Cebu city
