A less visited Polish city and all the better for that. Museum of Lodz worth a visit,situated in Poznanski Palace. Herbst Palace is a must see also, as is the Museum of the Factory in the Manufaktura complex.Jewish cemetery is worth a look also .Very moving.Do give the Ethnographical Museum a skip as it consists of just one room and shows nothing of the life of the people of the area in former times.People are friendly and very helpful everywhere .Public transport is like everywhere in Polish cities: excellent.For dining out try Mare e Monti if you like Italian food .If you prefer a more traditionally Polish dining experience Soplicowo in Ul. Łódź is an interesting city.
Łódź is an interesting city. It's shows the history through its architecture, Polish, German and Jewish residents have all left their mark in the city. It was known for its large factories and villas. The buildings are much different than the rest of Poland and the Piotrkowska street is the largest shopping street in Poland and one of the largest on Europe. Manufactura is very cool and worth a visit. You can see they're putting a lot of effort into building up the city. We particularly enjoyed the spa area with a large swimming pool, a jacuzzi, and several types of saunas. It's very convenient that it's open until 10 PM and also accessible from 8 AM, which allowed us to relax before checking out. The breakfasts were excellent—very tasty and varied.
