Great place to explore the East of the island , Machico is a relaxed version of Funchal. Good beach for swimming and good restaurants. The east, except Sam Lauranco, is little explorer and all the better for that. It is our favourite part of Madeira, much like the island was when we first came 40years ago. Walk the small!
