This hotel truly deserves its five-star rating. From the moment we arrived, everything was outstanding — one of the best service experiences we’ve ever had. The hotel is absolutely pet-friendly, which made our stay even more special. The rooms were spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. The staff were consistently helpful, professional, and genuinely kind. One situation really proved the exceptional quality of this hotel: during a major power and communication outage that affected all of Portugal for half a day, the hotel did everything in its power to ensure guest comfort and safety. They managed to keep one elevator working, maintain internet access, and provide assistance to all guests throughout the blackout. This level of preparedness and care is rare — and speaks volumes about the hotel’s standards. I also had a personal issue when I accidentally broke the lock on my suitcase. The hotel staff went out of their way to help me and resolved the problem quickly and efficiently. The breakfast is simply perfect — with a wide selection and the option to order freshly prepared dishes to your taste. And the views… just breathtaking. The ocean view from both the room and the restaurant is absolutely unforgettable. If you’re looking for a true luxury experience with world-class service, this is the place to stay. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

    Estoril is ideal for singles, couples and families who want...

    Estoril is ideal for singles, couples and families who want a relaxing break away. There are plenty of hotels, bars, cafes and restaurants but there isn’t a specific area or ‘strip’ of these, they are just dotted around. The casino and its garden are a dominant and attractive focal point so there are a few places near to it. There’s Portuguese food, of course, but also Italian, Chinese, Indian and Japanese. You can get fish and seafood dishes of any sort but there’s also lots of steak on offer. Prices are very reasonable. Some people travel in and out of the town specifically and solely to use the beach by day or the casino by night, some to attend events at the glamorous looking fort on the beach, so the town isn’t dead but it can feel quiet at certain times. It’s definitely a chilled out place to stay in. There are only a few local shops for groceries and not really any souvenir shops. In my opinion, it has more of a local, residential vibe and isn’t touristy. For a change of scene, by train Cascais is just a 5 minute ride away or Lisbon is about 40 minutes away. It’s great to visit either and then escape the crowds by returning to Estoril! There is currently a replacement bus service in operation after 9pm (not sure how easy that is to use) but at other times the trains are very frequent and inexpensive.

    I wouldnt particularly recommend Estoril as a holiday destination. It is a residential area full of expensive houses and flats and a couple of big hotels. There is no centre or focal point to the town. The only draw seems to be the casino. There are no shops apart from a supermarket and newsagent and an expensive dress shop. ALthough there are restaurants dotted around the residential streets they dont feel very holidayish. If you are just using Estoril as a base to tour around the area then it will be fine but I would recommend staying in Cascais if you want a holiday resort with a holiday vibe and all the facilities.

    Nicely decorated and lovely old history of Estoril. Enjoyed the sunroom / breakfast area and watched a lovely morning rain storm pass through. Love the honor bar system. Walking distance to the Estoril Casino a plus

    Given its reputation as the most expensive place to live in...

    Given its reputation as the most expensive place to live in Portugal it was rather disappointing. Little to do locally except the casino and without a car the stay would have been too long. However as a base for visiting Sintra and Lisbon it worked well.

    Estoril is a bit of a worn, unexciting beach destination. It has only a few decent restaurants and the Hotel Palacio is probably the only thing really worth visiting. On the positive side, it has a nice beach, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed, but I would always prefer nearby Cascais over Estoril.

    Lovely family run hotel. Spotlessly clean including outdoor area, which was tended to throughout the day. Cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Owners and front of house staff were helpful and able to understand any requests even with my lack of Portuguese. Hotel is 5 minute walk from Poça Beach. Lovely walk along the front will take you into Cascais where there are more shops, restaurants and bars. Hotel is located between 2 train stations, each about 10/15 minute walk. This was useful for travelling into Lisbon.

    Loved everything about our stay. The staff are so so kind and accommodating. We felt so welcomed and comfortable. Exceptionally clean and so comfortable with everything you need. Definitely coming back next time we are in Portugal. Carlos Silva really gave us the best treatment we are so grateful and thankful! Thank you so much for having us we can't wait to come back!

    I travelled to Lisbon/Estoril on business and found the Evolution to be a great choice. Great views from my room, a short walk along the waterfront to Cascais and the great food & wine to be found in there. They had great facilities downstairs, perfect to find a quiet place and do some work and a great place to meet. Will stay again.
