We were staying nearby in January, house hunting. The town would have been much livelier in the holiday season! However there was a very good restaurant, not smart but super food, A Grelha do Zezere, which I would recommend. The reason people come here is for the nearby lake which is a centre for water sports. The town itself isn't great but the region has beautiful spots for a retreat in nature - hikes, mountain bike paths, plenty of lake/river beaches. There's not a lot of restaurants in the region but all those we tried serve amazing food.Guest review byJoanaPortugal

The studio apartment was in perfect condition when we arrived and it had all the necessities for a pleasant getaway!! Really well furnished. A simple but very cosy space. The pool was a nice extra in the package. Location is also great, being close to the center of Ferreira do Zêzere (4 min.) and rather close to "Praia do Lago Azul" and Tomar (15 min.). The rooms and lounge and kitchen were spacious, the bathrooms with showers are good and everything is decorated with good taste. very well maintained. The lobby/entrance gives it "hotel" vibes. The hostel is amazing and really central in Ferreira. You have self-service laundry and a cheap shop with everything you need just down close to the entrance, and also an information place. The house is rustic, recovered with love and dedication, with all the accomodations needed for an excellent stay. The hotel itself is quite old, but very well maintained. The pool and sauna are excellent, and the service was good too. The kitchen was nice (I only wish there had been a dishwasher, but overall it was still great).
