The house was very clean when we arrived and plenty of equipment (towel, dishes, soap, ...) was provided. The landscape around the house is simply beautiful. The owner is extremely nice and accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Maria. The accommodation is cosy, spotless, and we were warmly welcomed with some cheese, a bottle of wine, and fresh water. a lovely gesture that set the tone right away. Maria is a wonderful host who understands your needs with just half a word. Nothing is too much for her. When we had planned a route trip Joke of 28 km that turned out to be a bit too ambitious, she immediately offered to help. We parked our car at the end point, and she arranged a taxi to take us to the starting point something that would have been quite difficult without her help, as the drivers hardly spoke any English. A stay with Maria means genuine hospitality, comfort, and thoughtful little touches that make all the difference. Highly recommended!

This was the most magical place. The staff were exceptional- friendly and helpful. The stone houses restored so beautifully but with the original stone and design honoured. And the scenery and surroundings were stunning and didn't even feel real with waterfalls in one direction and the ocean in the other. We wanted to stay forever and had hoped the winter weather would have been too bad for us to fly out. The food was also great, the reception area so cute with homemade treats, coffee and tea. Every detail was thoughtful and caring. We will be back!

First things first. It is close to the airport. 15-ish minutes on foot. There is also a convenient parking lot next to the police station nearby. It is an ideal spot when you have a car and are planning to make trekking trips around the island. The town is fairly small, so there is no problem in finding it. Owner also sent me the photo of the alley and how to get in so it was no problem at all. I´ve never met the owner but he was really respectful and straightforward in his online communication, which I appreciate. The apartment had all the appliances, washing machine, stove, microwave. Bathroom had a bidet. Although when washing clothes, you have to hang the laundry outside the old way. (good luck with the weather!) What came as a really nice surprise was a heated massage chair and a tv with good internet connection. There is also a small pier right next to the apartment so you can just go look at the night sea before sleep. It is very serene and quiet during off season. And it is all just behind the kitchen window!

    The village is small and on Sundays there’s only two...

    The village is small and on Sundays there’s only two restaurants open (low season). Weather is unpredictable and not so warm (18°C). Our host Ricardo recommends coming here in September when it’s still warm and the sea is about 25°C. We saw a lot of trekkers everywhere. On Flores you definitely would need a car. Close to the village iate a couple of stunning waterfalls.

    Island is just amazing, lots of scenic views and full of waterfalls. People in Flores are the kindest I've met in my travels and food's quality is what you would expect from a typical Portuguese village.
