Perfect location. Isolated from the touristy places right outside. It was an oasis. I can not imagine staying anywhere else in Pinhao. It made the entire experience special.

The small details such as the bottles of water, cookies, and coffee that were available in the kitchen. The house was equipped with everything. Really lovely place. We had a wonderful two-day stay. The place is beautiful and has great charm and an authentic atmosphere. We enjoyed dinner with the local wines and this was a great experience - the owner talked about the wines and production and the pleasant chef about the good food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We warmly recommend a stay at Morgadio Da Calsada Douro

Amazing views and amazing rooms. The pool was a cook welcome: the rooms were big and so were the bathrooms. The morning breakfast was amazing. Have to thank PEDROS one of the restaurant staff who went out of his way and helped us call an ambulance after my husband had an allergic reaction. He stayed with us till the medical team left and stoped all his work to accompany us. Super lative service.

    Take the train from Porto, relax and enjoy the view along the way. Pinhão is a laid back 'Village' in the stunningly beautiful Douro Valley. I have been before and it hasn't lost its charm. Pinhão provides convenient access to Port Lodges in the vicinity without the need for a car for transportation. Safe Home & Hurry Back, that's what I say!

    Douro Tour group was great.

    Douro Tour group was great. Recommend the all day Douro Valley tour with boat ride, lunch, wine and port tastings, vineyard tours. It is an easy walk from Quinta Rosa to Pinhão. On our own, also went to olive oil museum tour which had olive oil and wine tastings overlooking stunning views. Walked back throughthe vineyards.

    I loved the small town feeling but yet everything you need...

    I loved the small town feeling but yet everything you need was right there - supermarket and a great variety of restaurants. I loved the walking and of course the Festival de Foclore was an added bonus. Would love to return for the grape picking season in September- I heard it’s great craic

    Small town/village right on the river.

    Small town/village right on the river. See,s to be the go to destination for boats moving up and down the river. Great central location for vinyards and touring around. Some of the views in the wine valley nearby are truly spectactular. A great place to stay two night as part of a tour.

    We absolutely loved visiting Pinhao because of the wonderful...

    We absolutely loved visiting Pinhao because of the wonderful views of the river and hills covered with vineyards in the area. The highlights were the winery tour at Quinta das Carvalhas and dinner at The Bridge 1870. We only stayed one night, and I wish we had stayed two. We could have easily visited more wineries, done olive oil tastings, taken a longer boat tour... maybe next time!

    Pinhão is a picturesque small town in a great position, right on the river Douro, a beautiful 2-hour train ride from Porto. It is well positioned for walking to a number of port Quintas, and is well served by some excellent cafes and restaurants. We had excellent evening meals and fine wines in the Bridge 1870 Restaurant, and the Writers' Place - at opposite extremities of the town - and loved popping into Cafe Imperio across from the railway station to enjoy a cool beer and escape the heat.

    The staff in all areas of the hotel were pleasant, efficient, informative and very happy to help in anyway possible. The hotel is beautiful and the view over the river is beautiful. The breakfast was lovely and we had dinner in the hotel one evening which was wonderful. The other night we ate in a local more traditional restaurant which the hotel booked for us and was a good choice too. Pinhão is lovely and the hotel was an oasis of calm after a busy stay in Porto.

    We had a great stay at the Quinta de La Rosa. We arrived after check-in time but it wasn't a problem and somebody was waiting for us at the arranged time making sure we find the hotel room and have everything needed. The hotel room is super cozy and breakfast was a dream. Highly recommended!
