    We come here to enjoy the natural pools we were too tired upon arrival. But next morning was perfect, no crowds,peaceful. There are enough restaurants to choose from. Please be aware that some of them close their kitchens around 4pm

    Stunning scenery. Great for hiking.

    Stunning scenery. Great for hiking. Weather is changeable and was cooler than UK at the time we visited (April into May), so take a range of clothing in case of cooler days. Jeep trips to hiking trails are a great idea. you get to see places you wouldn't stumble upon left to your own devices. Overall a rally nice spring break in stunning surroundings. Just let down by poor customer service in some of the eateries.

    We stopped at Fanal forest on the way to Porto Moniz.

    We stopped at Fanal forest on the way to Porto Moniz. We swam in the pools upon arrival. We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day in the winter which made it ideal for swimming and walking around.

    Morning coffee and cake at the little bar outside the entrance to the bigger supermarket. Exploring the upper town and climbing the winding road up the hill for great views. Sitting on a bollard in the harbour watching old men fishing, people messing about on boats, schools of fish in the deep and very clear water, even having a harbour porpoise playing near where I was sitting. Exploring the natural bathing pools at the eastern end of the promenade, swimming with schools of fish keeping you company and then sitting with a beer in the sun at the cafe nearby.

    We set up at 35 day European vacation.

    We set up at 35 day European vacation. We had never heard of Madeira before this. It ended up being truly the highlight of the whole 35 days vacation. Literally every moment was exciting or truly relaxing while we were in Porto Moniz. This is to whoever may be considering Porto Moniz. No games, you’re not going to find a better place to get happy.

    The place was quite crowded even of the main season.

    The place was quite crowded even of the main season. During the TOP season it will be not a good choice for me. But was nice for a short off-season stay. The weather on the north of the island is a bit less sunny.

    The best hotel on the north of Madeira. We were in several hotels during our stay in Madeira and this one is one of the best. Great location with the entrance to the pools. Nice view to the ocean from the room, restaurant, sauna and jacuzzi. Very nice personal. The room is also nice. You’ll find there very comfy bed, nice balcony with comfortable chairs and coffeemaker. Breakfast was also very nice. So 100% recommended.

    Everything was spotless, pool warm, hot tub you can choose temperature and everything was clean( I’m quite picky). Staff was very nice and helpful. We spent Christmas there and in the morning we received a gift Madeira cake bottle of wine and a chocolate Santa for my daughter it was very nice gesture. Highly recommend this hotel!

    The accommodation was spotlessly clean, fully equipped with everything we needed, and had a lovely terrace with an outdoor barbecue fireplace. The location is fantastic – just a few steps from the famous natural swimming pools in Porto Moniz. The host was very welcoming and helpful, and we felt wonderful here.

    the only thing we liked was the staff, it was very cheap so we basically had no expectations. If you want to safe some money and just enjoy the beautiful island of madeira this place is perfect. If you want a quality hotel go somewhere else and pay more
