    It was low season and there was not much going on.

    It was low season and there was not much going on. It appears that apart from the beach and one golf club there is not so much to be done in Troia. There were a few restaurants but not that many. Supermarket in the village was extremely, expensive

    Troia is a great place to enjoy almost year round beach and country relaxation. Eating can be excelent down the Peninsula, though prices are becoming too high, and second level places are not as good as they should be by Portuguese cuisine levels - get on the ferry and enjoy great fish in Setubal for a pair of meals. Avoid Troia Residence, by The Editorym Ácala Apartments. Lousy price/quality relation. A spacious and well conserved apartment with poor help form the desk (not ansereing phone; late or no action when requested). Absolutely noisy from 7pm to 1am. Tricky air conditioning. Awful 3rd bed requested and paid for an adullt. Kitchenware reduced to absolute minimum, no broom, and no equipment to dry towels and clothes, though there's a specific balcony.

    All in all, I really enjoyed my stay. It was great. However, I wouldn´t rate the hotel as a 5 star. The pool was in poor maintenance, the indoor pool had a lot of chlorine and the Air conditioner in the room was too noisy and the filters were dirty as I saw dust when it was switched on. I did request maintenance; my request was attended but, the equipment must be needing maintenance. I even felt the dust on the bed linen.

    Clean and comfortable. Close to the amenities in Troia, short walk to the beach, marina and restaurants. Great apartment if you are looking for a peaceful getaway. Extremely helpful and friendly host, very attentive to all our needs before, during and after our stay. Would recommend staying in this apartment.

    The receptionist was ok and fair with us but she was obviously restricted by whoever employed her. The location would have been lovely if only the hotel had the facilities promised.
