The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was a decent size, with great views of the sea and mountains. The facilities were very good, with an indoor and an outdoor pool. The view from the cliffs was amazing. Breakfast was excellent, with friendly hotel staff and a good selection of breads, cereals, cooked food, fruit, cheeses and so on.

A beautiful and super clean apartment in a quiet location near the mountains in central part of the island. Really close to all points of interest. The apartment had all the necessary facilities and more. The host was really nice and flexible. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay at the studio. The hosts Sandra and Olides are very welcoming and the check in with the key box worked smoothly. There is plenty of space to store your belongings during your stay. The entire studio was spotlessly clean. The terrace with the view on the surrounding farmland is very nice, especially during good weather. A supermarket is close in 6 min. driving. Overall a great place to stay if you feel closer to nature than to city life. The place is a good starting point for exploring the northern part of the island.

Accommodations were as described and worked great for us. Good access to PR1 / PR1.2 Pico Ruivo trails as well as PR9 Levada do Caldeirão Verde and PR18 Levada do Rei walks. House is very clean and comfortable. We were two couples with a baby. The three bedrooms worked well for us. We would book this property again.

We had an exceptional experience at this accommodation! We particularly enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of the hosts, the beauty of the location, and the personal touches that made our stay so memorable. The opportunity to connect with the owners, especially during the wine tasting in Jeff's private cellar, added a unique and special touch to your trip. The house was simply perfect, and in a very convenient position for the hiking pathways. Lili and Marco are the most kind and helpful people I ever met, they really made the stay outstanding. I could not recommend this accommodation more!

Lili, our host, was AMAZING! She made certain we had everything we needed, gave us hiking, attractions and dining suggestions. The house was stocked with basics so we didn't have to buy those things. The terrace was big, private and had ocean views...a great place to spend time when the sun was out. Private parking and a nice neighborhood. I definitely recommend this accommodation!

    Santana is a perfect location to explore the north coast.

    Santana is a perfect location to explore the north coast. Not far away from airport and capital, but still on the north. Two hiking starting points are nearby: Queimadas and Achada do Teixeira. Santana also has an only large supermarket on the whole north coast, so you can buy delicious food right there. No such option in Porto Moniz or Seixal.

    Cute little town.

    Cute little town. The uniquely Madeiran thatched houses are worth a look. There is one nice gentleman who invites people to see inside a home that has been in his family for 100+ years. It's a small window into what life was like before all the tourism. Also, he's very kind and will offer you a coffee liqueur on arrival. A donation is generally appreciated at the end. Most importantly, he has adorable cats that hang out at the house, and one of the cats literally guided me up the path to his house. :)

    Depends on each individual expectations, this is not a noise place with nitclubs, but it is very good for relaxation, countryside but wonderful, people are going earlier to bed and is so peaceful, you can find diferit restaurant on the village with a lot of options, I highly recommend it if you like the tranquility and nature

    The hotel is very pleasant.

    The hotel is very pleasant. It is good to be together with nature and with beautiful views over the sea and mountains. However, check-in took a long time, we waited 1 hour and a half for them to prepare the room, and when we got to the room, there were no pool towels, we had to ask at reception. Another situation that I didn't like was the booking of the wine tasting and visit to wine house. We were refused the wine tasting because we had already checked out at 12:00h. So we asked if we could do it before check out and they said yes, but we got there and nobody showed up.

    Don't stay in Santana longer than 4 days and make sure you have a rental car to get to all the levadas easily. The restaurants/cafes in Santana are not that good/nice. The only tourist attraction in Santana are the famous Santana houses and the nearby hiking area Queimadas.

    We made the mistake of not hiring a car before we got to the...

    We made the mistake of not hiring a car before we got to the hotel. We figured we would see what Santana was like and then hire a car locally, this was a big mistake! Once we got to our hotel, it was clear that we would need a car to get around as nothing is close or easy to get to. We're super active people but local hikes are 30 mins just to get to. We were told it would be £630 to hire a car for 5 days. Our advice would be to hire a car ahead of your trip. Santana is beautiful and has such a variety of things to do and see. Other advice would be to not judge a book by its cover when it comes to restaurants, we ate the best stake in a tiny little restaurant that looked pretty grim from outside. You probably wont want to spend all your time in Santana but its a great base.

    We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house in Santana. It was perfect for four people – spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The terrace with the stunning view was definitely a highlight. We also appreciated the easy communication with the owner, who was very friendly and helpful. The private parking was a big plus, and the location was peaceful yet close to local attractions. A great place to relax and enjoy the nature of Madeira!

    The stunning views have got to be the selling point for us. The hotel is very cozy, loved the communal fireplaces during our winter stay. Service was great and the hotel offers daily complementary activities for example a Portuguese lesson or poncha (local cocktail) making. A little stroll to the restaurant was romantic, great food options for both meat / fish eaters as well as vegans / vegetarians. Really good wine selection.
