The Quinta de Sao Luiz, where we were staying, made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Tabuaco. The drive to the restaurant was challenging due to the serpentine road and rainy weather. Tabuaco itself is quite a nice local town as a more reasonably-priced base for the Douro Valley. There is a very helpful laundromat just a block away.
