FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernization, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city center and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

While admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 81.5 acres. Make sure you check out the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 11 miles from the city center, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

Bucharest is an excellent city for architectural enthusiasts. The palimpsests of historical buildings, combined with the vestigial remains of communist architecture, make it fascinating. Cismigiu Park was a nice find. Many unusual Roman sarcophagi are displayed outdoors. Gothic feel in autumn, highly recommended. Friendly people and some of the best pizza and coffee I've found in my travels. Bears further exploration

The hotel was located in old city center. Love the old buildings and architecture. We had dinner right outside side the back of the hotel. Delicious! However, I would recommend taking a taxi to your destinations. They know how to best maneuver thru the traffic

Interesting city, like any metropolis not for the faint-hearted, but full of hidden surprises, brilliant history and art museums, centrally placed monastery, lovely bookshop with top floor cafe, Old Town vibe and quite well placed for day trips to Transylvania hills and forests, Bram (Dracula) Castle and Therme Spa, one of finest mega spa swimming, fun and treatment centres in Europe. Lovely little cafe by Art Museum complex - Boutique du Pain - serving fresh power salads and good coffee. City has a new football museum which we might have visited, that or the ethnography museum, if we had had another day.

Our visit was primarily to celebrate a friend's birthday, and we had 2 or 3 activities pre-planned so sightseeing was limited. However, what we saw of the city was lovely. Like any city, it has its less salubrious areas, but there is some great architecture and lovely gardens to see. Ubers are plentiful and cheap if you don't want to walk, but traffic is generally very heavy! For those who indulge, beer is cheap, and there are some fabulous Romanian wines to sample.

A really developed city, which is convenient to get by to every place. We really liked the Village museum, located in a park up north from the city center. The old city feels a bit touristy but we liked the vibe overall. There was a massive event going on for the Bucharest day and the whole city was outside.

The Europa Royale hotel in Bucharest is a great hotel on a fantastic location at the edge of the old town and very close to Bus and Metro. The service at the reception was great. Especially Bianca and also Ghassan made me feel very welcome instantly and they were very helpful with their answers to all my questions. The room was very nice, clean, quiet and with a perfect airco and comfortable bed. Breakfast offered everything you want. I can really recommend this hotel to everyone who needs a perfect place to stay in Bucharest

The breakfast was excellent, and there was plenty of choice. The room was spacious and had a good power shower. I used the gym (which is available 24/7) and it is well equipped for a basic workout. The staff are very nice and friendly. Bucharest is a really interesting place to explore, and the hotel is well situated in the Old Town. The airport bus (783) has a stop 220m away (Universitate) so that is a good choice for coming and going to the hotel: https://goo.gl/maps/9r9QAsq7BDeeLJ5v6

I stayed here for a two day visit to Bucharest. The hotel was a short walk from the airport bus stop and about a 20 minute walk to the old town. The room was very large and comfortable although a little dated. The bathroom was large and had a shower over the bath. This had good flow and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was quite varied although there were no fresh fruit juices - only bottled "drinks". This was a good base for a short break and was good value for money.

Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located close to the city centre in a quiet area and walking distance from the train station. The room was spacious and clean. As the hotel has just recently opened. I will book again if I go back to Bucharest.

Good hotel right on the edge of the old town of Bucharest. Comfortable beds. Get a balcony room if you can - the third floor ones are best. Excellent and helpful staff.
