It is the city were I was born, so for sure I can recomand it, you have lots to do, lots to visit. My review is about Parang, because Ayana is situated at the bottom of Parang, near the old chairlift. Parang is quite rundown. I hope that now they will began investing, after the road was finished. Very poor management of this great nature jewel. The transportation systems are all separated and with manual check-ins / check-outs, everything is "cash only", no ATM-s, no stores in touristic area. Petrosani, as all the other former minning cities from the...
Petrosani, as all the other former minning cities from the area, looks depressing. Fortunately, not far away there is the National Park Retezat, the aurochs reserve and the skiing resort Straja. The hotel was strange - in two parts but it used to be a casino and has beautiful decor, large rooms and ceilings and a wonderful function room. There was a wedding there when we stayed so it was a tad noisy and the evening meal took a long while to arrive as they were busy with the wedding guests but we were not in a rush and enjoyed the ambience.
