A nice and cozy city in the mountains, within 1-2 hours drive to multiple ski resorts (Transalpina Ski or Paltinis). The city has all the facilities of big cities, but is small and not crowded. The place is underrated, has so much potential. While I traveled many times through it, I never stopped for more that a few minutes. But I discovered Rm. A large chunk of the town is just in the famous communist...
A large chunk of the town is just in the famous communist fashion - boring blocks of flats, lots of concrete. Instead there is a part with nice houses and lots of green. There's also a nice park and a huge wandering area in the nature. I recommend the town just for that. Lots of nice places to visit are within one hour driving - both nature and man-made: mountains to climb, gorges, caves, monasteries and churches, folk art.Guest review byMihaiRomania - 10.0
I didn't visit the city. I only slept in Rm. Valcea.
I didn't visit the city. I only slept in Rm. Valcea. I went there for 2 mountain trips at Baile Olanesti- Tisa and Cozia National Park (Stanisoara monastery). I will definily came back in this region.Guest review byAdrianaRomania
