We hardly had time for the city, as we were busy visiting the monasteries around it, which we highly recommend: Putna, Dragomirna, Gura Humorului, Voroneț, Sucevița, Moldovița, Agapia, Văratec. Suceava is an attractive town with good amenities and a pleasant atmosphere. With its wide boulevard, central square and pavement cafes it's perfect for an evening stroll. The beautiful monastery, fortress and traditional village museum are definitely worth a visit. The important point about Suceava is as a centre for visiting the many attractions of the Bucovina, the surrounding area - in particular the painted monasteries; walking in the hills, woods and valleys; the handicrafts, the layout and architecture of the village houses; and the food of the region.
