    Wonderful castle and walks around and through the city were most enjoyable. The area is flat so no problems with steep inclines. Interesting history with many photo opportunities. Even took advantage of a local folk singing concert. We came away most refreshed and look forward to visiting again.

    It was well worth the trip from Helsingborg. We liked the old town. The castle & surrounding gardens were spectacular. We would have done the nature walk, but the weather was too cold & wet (23rd & 24th May, 2025.

    The castle was a great tour—even in the pouring rain.

    The castle was a great tour—even in the pouring rain. We drove to Oland and swam in the Baltic Sea. It was a nice hike—easy 4-5 miles. Walking around the walled area of Kalmar was nice as well. We had dinner at Ernesto’s which was delicious.

    Gr3a t little town for a stop of one full day filled with character and history. Great castle right there worth a visit. Easy to walk all over town and several good restaurants near square but like the rest of Scandinavia not cheap!!!

    Real fine little city, calm and cozy atmosphere, kind of slow-paced urban lifestyle, and kind of richness in culture. Beautiful architecture with old-time details, an awesome treat for the eyes! Everything is within a nice walking distance, And the Castle on the sea-shore is simply stunning.

    Kalmar is a nice city.

    Kalmar is a nice city. The old city walls and the castle give it a good feel. It's easy to take a day trip to Öland from here. I wouldn't recommend this during the fall season as it gets quite cold and windy. I must recommend the restaurant E.A.T.. This restaurant has very heartwarming staff and a great atmosphere.

    This hotel is an absolute dream. The location is perfect, and both the exterior and interior are stunning. The rooms are beautiful, the beds unbelievably comfortable, and every detail feels carefully thought out. The staff are warm, welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and set in a lovely space. A wonderful stay from start to finish — highly recommend.

    The best parts about this hotel are the low price and excellent location, only about a five minute walk from the train station and close to the city center for restaurants and other needed services. Complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits in the hotel lobby.

    The building and the location in Kalmar can't be better, looking to a beautiful square close by to the train station, the building is full of charm and heritage. Restaurant is one the best in town if you like meat.

    The apartment is in great location close to the Kalmar castle which is the main attraction. Also a nice restaurant and bakery is within walking distance. Free parking on the street, which is a big bonus.
