Obviously close distance to Stockholm and to the Arlanda Airport are main advantages of Sigtuna. What is more, Sigtuna is the eldest Swedish town so it makes Sigtuna even more prestigous place in Sweden. If you like history Sigtuna has a number of interesting attractions. Stora Gatan is the oldest street in Sweden. In addition, there are a number of runestones around the town. Sigtuna is amazing, it is a small town so you can defenitly see all of it in one day, but it is absolutely worth going there. It is the oldest town in Sweden and has a very rich viking history. The town is still the way it was 1000 years ago!! Around the little town are very old rune stones that are absolutely worth seeing, also beautiful viking ruins. I would also recommend the Sigtuna museum for some great viking history and very interesting information about Sigtuna in olden times. We were spending the following day in the town and the hotel were happy for us to leave our bags in their luggage room until we were ready to travel onward in the evening.
