The hotel is in the center of town, a 5 minute walk to the train station. Public parking is next to the hotel; after 6 pm it is free until 9 am. Coming from South East England, Växjö seemed, very, very, very quiet. Quieter than a Sunday during the first lockdown in England. It was not unusual to see no cars on a main road. Växjö and Sweden as a whole is very well organised. Hardly any litter, no graffiti, everyone very polite. Most people spoke English and were eager to help if we needed help. The bus service is excellent, the timetables are accurate to the minute. If you like peace and quiet it's a good place to go. We first decided for a room with own bathroom but we could easily change it to a room in the castle. The setting and interior is amazing and cozy. Free dinner and breakfast which was exceptional quality and quantity. This hotel coped extremely well with many British visitors on Monday night in town for parkrun by the lake.
